This is a most awesome stump destroyer. I wonder why it spins counter-clockwise. Guess it doesn't matter. I like at the beginning where that one dude says "Okay -- I'll just move back a little!". That was funny. 'Cause he was scared.
Dude, I just spent all day drilling holes in the stump in the front yard so that I could use chemical stump remover. I had no idea anything like this existed.
@skgrek23 No. First of all, why would you want to. But the real reason is the angle of the PTO shaft. When it first starts out, the unit is so high in the air that the U-joint is past a 45 deg angle. If you put too much torque on that joint at that angle, you'd be changing U-joints all the time. And the whole purpose to this kind of stump grinder is the slow, safe speed. No chips flying all over the place.
@rotorstumper That would help alot. My grandfather was always on me about the angle of the PTO. Back in the old days, they wouldn't old up if you went past 45 deg. Nice to see inovation with the double joint rated at 240 hp
Nice machine, less rpm than a traditional grinder = safer. This should be made into an excavator attachment, more reach and less machine positioning = faster cycle.
the best thing to do is to put a stick of dynamite.my uncle and father were doing that in the eighties. you had to choose a good shelter, though. but it was very effective.
Wow, what a beast! There have been a few times I wish I had this thing. I would think you'd need a bi-directional PTO in case you needed to back that thing out.
i dont understand where people are getting these numbers from... 110,000, 121,000?!?! Jesus, you dont have to go out and buy the newest model tractor to run it!!! Something like a 6030 Deere would run it just fine...

How far below the surface does it cut. We plow 16" deep periodically. Wouldn't want to snag my equipment on a buried stump or root. Root plowing is pretty hard to beat. I guess it is all in the application.

This thing is amazing - Ive watched bunches of those saw blade style stump grinders, but this thing takes the cake hands down! Didnt take much more then a minute to dig it right to the ground
like the fresh prince says - i gotta git me wunna deez! - in a sad but related story, they actully used to call me stumpgrinder, because of my raging case of acrotomophilia... i'm happy to say that i'm much better now.
@rotorstumper Hehe, I agree. For minimum 140 PTO HP thats about $121,000. For the Stumper I say since the way it looks like its been built, maybe at least $12,000 for it. So them your spending $133,000 Minimum for it :D.
Its obviously designed exclusively for farmers. They can never level enough tree's and grind enough stumps fast enough. As they want to clear so much so quick, the cost and size is justified. Perfectly placed product.
You forgot: Less rpm = more Nm
