Being a huge Cleo Laine fan I had always avoided listening to Shirley's version. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Shirley, maybe even more than Cleo (!) but Cleo's version is so special, having written the lyrics herself, and also after the death of Sir Dankworth the song became even more meaningful... So today, on Christmas Eve, I gave in, and finally watched this video... And I melted into a pool of goo! Shirley is amazing, as always, and sings so tenderly. She is a musical genius. Thank you Johnny!
