wish i had money id have them all not in this life time maybe theyll give you a break on it gayle you were haveing fun with it the singing drop for the road singer is a very good feature dont seem right but sounds right thanks gayle
those elixir strings sound like crap - as usual - I play an Alvarez Yairi YB-1 Baritone and it sounds ten times better for half the price. The Taylor would probably sound better w/ the John Pearse medium baritone set(a wound F#) w/ a couple of single strings for the extra two, that and some ageing and it might sound pretty good......
That is such a fantastic, deeply expressive fretted instrument. They are probably worth more in terms of musical satisfaction than the $3k plus pricetag.
@cathode1 It's a review, not a jam. A review is about REVIEWING it and talking about it so we know what the hell it is. If she didn't talk about it, the it wouldn't be a REVIEW. Get over yourself.
@BLACKMAGICMETALMAN12 I was actually thinking of get a cheap 40 box acoustic, drill the headstock, add two machines, drill the bridge and nut to make a cheap 8 string guitar, low tunned to F so I could be available to play Meshuggah's stuff in school, without having to alternate electric/acoustic and downtune when I play with the class. But I'm short of money now, may in a few months I can make it ;D
I can see a using capo on a baritone in some instances, like at the second fret to play E in G position. What I don't understand is why she advocates using a 12 string capo when Taylor lists the width at the nut as 1 & 3/4, the same as many of their models. Wouldn't a regular capo do?
Close, but different. The regular 6-capo does not have the strength to press down all 12 strings. What you'll end up with is the core strings capo'd and the high 6 'smaller' strings muted. they will not ring correctly.
All this is assuming you're using a clip on capo, and not a strap down.
The 12-string capo simply has more power to mute ALL strings, even the smaller, higher ones.
I'm sold...all ya had to say was the magic phrase: PEANUT BUTTER!!!
sounds cool, too. Even though I'm used to a bari guitar being strung just as a regular guitar, just an octave lower..much like the Fender VI of years past.
thank you for boring us to death and not letting us hear what the guitar sounds like.

@salm37 actually A and D as it's strung BEADGB but yes if you're thinking about a normal EADGBE acoustic it would be D and G.

You can buy a baritone and capo it to the 4th fret? Isn't that sort of like bashing the back window out of your station wagon so you can haul lumber.
I wish she would have played something.

Here is what the official Shubb page says:
"Capo for 12-string guitar, or any steel string guitar with a wide fretboard.
2.25" wide, curved for a radiused fretboard. All the capo styles on this page will fit the same neck shape."
It would seem to be an issue of width of neck based on this.

Thanks for reviewing this, I just read about it. I'd like to hear played a little more though. This guitar interests me to play blues on it.
