Windows 7 is awesome because 1). if you have lots of windows open and you just want to focus on one, you just take one window, shake it, and the rest are gone. 2). start up is faster, and also because of many other awesome features!
@MisterBaseball200 AeroShake is barely a game breaking feature, and start up has been shown to be basically the same time as vista. don't get me wrong, i love windows 7 but those "features" you mentioned arn't worth jack.
Thats really good on part of the Microsoft, but I still think macbooks are a bit more hassle free. I would find it quite annoying seeing all the jumbled up things on one screen.
I believe it registers 7 points on this tablet but on my big 40" multi-touch table I can register up to 20 touches at once so multiple user can interact.
I'm using a applet that converts touch events to tuio messages. The programs are written in flash and are made for multi-touch tables created on nui group. We already had multi-touch apps but before now we were unable to use them on the DellXT, The program is called Simple Desktop I think it is a great interface to start with. Ps. This applet may also work with the new hp touchsmart.
Is that the same software used on Jeff Han's multitouch screen? That's what it reminds me of, or maybe it's a simplified version.
Also I don't fully understand the description. Are you saying that these programs don't natively support multitouch and that they're using mouse emulation?
The Dell Xt is as sensitive to touch as the iPhone. It uses the same type of capacitive screen. Only problem is the pen is disabled during the beta test phase.

So you can register more than 2 simultaneous touches with this screen like in the piano demo?
How many points can you register?

you should hold off until windows 7 comes out. Then touch screens will become standard and there will be a whole lot more on the market.
