  • That Voice-Sly Stone-Doug Pinnick.. It's such a soulful voice. I would quit playing guitar, if I could sing like that...DAMN!!!!!

  • JAH RASTAFARI!

  • It's kinda interesting how people perceive 'success'. I'm around the same age (44) as the members in Fishbone...saw them in Cincy Ohio @ Bogarts when I was in high school...I've always view them as sucessful regardless. People here need to also remember that the America THEN was NOT the America NOW for MANY African-American groups NOT strickly playing 'black' music...Fishbone and Bad Brains, Living Color were definitely 'alternative' for their time without the pretense that that label has now!

  • @noom67 So true. Not to mention the record companies wouldn't give these guys a chance because they didn't play "black music". They didn't think they could make any money off these guys.

  • It sounds very gospel! Obvious influence!

  • 8 people are fans of Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga, manufactured, plastic -sounding, talentless phonies who don't deserve a single bit of the success they've acquired.

  • Fuck VEVO

  • Why is this band without the massive mainstream success and recognition that they so richly, richly deserve?

  • @grindhousejunky79 George Benson : "the world is a ghetto"

  • @grindhousejunky79 Good Question....

  • @grindhousejunky79 Dig the documentary EveryDay Sundshine: The Story Of Fishbone

  • @flickerman68 Yeah, I've seen that one, it's amazing.

  • @flickerman68 I really don't know a hell of a lot about Fishbone but i saw that docu and I came away with while Angelo might be an amazing frontman he also came across like a fucking asshole egomaniac that killed the band with his " i need to express myself" bullshit. I would have killed him if he kept pulling out the viberaphone thingy. I understand inserting cool interesting instrements into your sound but WTF, the show doesn't revolve around a thing you can't fuckin tune! Am I wrong?

  • @Johnnywhamo Its a theramin :) if that is the correct way to play it but yes I get your point but Fishbone are the way they are or were cus of the composition of the band and their personalitys. I don't think you could have Fishbone without those defining members and that instrument came in years later. What happened to them is complex and does not have a single answer to explain why they never broke big.'

  • @grindhousejunky79 What do you mean? They were said to have gotten plenty of attention back in the late 80's and early 90's. Even MTV was talking about them.

  • @interpolluter29 Yes, but that was only for that certain time period and then it kinda waned off for them, they sorta slipped beneath the cracks of mainstream consciousness, it didn't continue for them. What I mean is that they should have had long lasting fame and fortune and recognition, continuing into this day, on the levels of superstardom enjoyed by the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Boyz 2 Men, or U2, hell they should be the black U2.

  • i LOVE fishbone, but i don't think for a second that musicians get to define what is "good music". i;m a musician myself, btw. many musicians confuse musicianship, technical prowess (chops) etc. with good MUSIC. it's what i call "mastery snobbery". how hard something is to play, or the level of technical mastery is not what defines good music, although it can be a critical element. sometimes, simpler is better. that being said, fishbone is awesome

  • @gasfr Well put post.

  • 8 people dislike this? That's 8 people with gaping holes in their souls.

  • @HillcrestCapital Ask a MUSICIAN if this is terrible music. Especially a drummer or bassist. Maybe not your cup o' tea stylistically, but this music is a far cry from terrible.

  • @HillcrestCapital sounds like you're an idiot

  • @HillcrestCapital I'm sure you could do much better. Troll.

  • @HillcrestCapital I like Fishbone but you are right. That is fucking hilarious!

  • Norwood Fisher is kickin' 'azz on bass

  • Classic!

  • great music!!

  • This group I have never heard before until the news about Michelle Bachman, but actully the group sounds pretty good. how ever I didnt like what they did to her on that show tho.

  • @happyfillings12 The only thing Fishbone had to do with the Michelle Bachman thing was to write a song 20+ years ago that The Roots played for her intro.

  • angelooooooooooooo!!!

  • ughhh, im trying to watch a band thats got actual talent and im hit with a withering barrage of Lady Gagas new single. #firstworldproblems

  • looks like black guys i nevefr windering

  • I come here to see a piece of music by a band with talent - and I get a commercial pre-roll for a chunk of steaming shit.

  • @mgabrysSF ... look at the brighter side. You got to hear this delicious track, no one forced you to come here, and hearing it more than compensates for the aforementioned chunk of steaming shit. Just sayin' my friend, 20 years ago you wouldn't have gotten this at all unless you forked over about $ 16 for the album.

  • @Silaxian Yeah but the dark side to that is bands like this, bands that are amazing but not commercially mainstream enough to be invited to MTV music awards, will cease to exist. Why? Because they can't make a living anymore, because fucks like us are too cheap to shell out $16.

  • @rudygetsplenty ... Then again record sales have never been the primary revenue generator for any band I can think of.

  • hiro111. was that at the fox in hanford??? i was there too if it was?? whole concert totally rocked

  • I have been following fishbone since the late '80's. Back in those days Angelo thought he was far too cool to hang with the fans. I saw them open for English Beat last year and Angelo was workin' the crowd. He wasn't feelin' so high and mighty anymore. He took pictures, designed a girls shirt and was, finally, REAL cool. Got a pic with him. It was nice that he wasn't too damn proud to hang with the fans no mo. He was actually really nice. It was a nice change!

  • saw them in dallas at lollapaloza awesome

  • Gonna see them in live tonight :D

  • this would be much better if they cranked the organ up

  • Jammin! Reminds me of Sly & The Family Stone!

  • Anyone interested in hearing new music from ex-Fishbone member Chris Dowd's new project The Ultra Infidels, type "The Ultra Infidels" and "Stop!" into youtube...

  • it's vevo, but i liek fishbone so *sigh*

  • I remember when this group was just started in the mid 80's to performing at The Lighthouse In Hermosa Beach. My BF and i was kick out of the club because one of the member call my friend a bitch because she wasn't interested in the guy. I remember the altercation of verbal attack and threat. I was ready to put my foot up in their ass. But it was better we were kick out. Never and to this day really care for this group even though they have recorded good music. They can still kiss my ass.

  • @not2shy2say O-M-GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! @__@ that's terrible!

  • I saw that tour aswell, and have basically based my musical opinions of other band's live performances on that one night! I wish these guys would have made the money that other bands have made. They worked harder and brought more truth, power and passion (not to mention ridiculous talent ) to the stage than anyone. Most bands today couldn't carry thier road cases. Fishbone were and are the shit. Period.

  • Saw Fishbone last night-New Parish Oakland Ca-wow what a show-the crowd went apeshit and Angelo is still stage diving . Btw-the Fishbone movie-Everyday Sunshine: The Story Of Fishbone is a must see. Angelo had to move back to his mother's house recently because he couldn't pay his rent. Being in the music business is really horrible-sometimes you have to do things for the love of it despite the financal misery .

  • I'm about to see them tonight in Fresno at the Fulton 55....hopefully they kick ass like they do here.

  • saw them once at this tiny club in Memphis and the sun was comin up when the show was over

  • Saw them Friday 13th. Mind bending show !

  • I was In New Jersey When They Filmed I LIKE TO SWIM!! I loved being it by the Water Cannon It was Hot azz Hell Out there. Fishbone RULES!!!

  • Saw these guys with slightly stoopid. I had never heard of them before and was going to see slightly stoopid. These guys opened and made them look to stupid as fuck

  • @kleezer1 haha that's how it was when I seen them with The Expendables.

  • @kleezer1 Look for the documentary Everyday Sunshine: The Story Of Fishbone.

  • 8 months clean off of chrystal meth and now its everyday sunshine.God Bless

  • @lilton25 amen. god bless

  • @lilton25 PUSSY!

  • @lilton25 Congrats! :)

  • @lilton25 CONGRATS BUBBA,

SAW FISHBONE at grassroots miami 2 days ago.

  • The ENERGY this song can produce in you is astounding! Where are bands like this now? Why is radio dominated by mediocrities and egomaniacs? This is talent beyond comprehension on display here.

  • I'll tell you, I've seen them twice over the last two years, the most recent being about two months ago and the energy is still there. They still put on an absolutely amazing show.

  • Not only is Fishbone amazing, but check out those colors! Damn near blew my mind away...

  • Saw Fishbone in 1991 in a cramped UCLA ballroom. Skankin' Pickle opened for them. Best mosh pit ever.

  • aaaaaaaa very good :D

  • these dudes were so badasss when they opened for slightly stoopid the other night!!!!!!!

  • @tannnerrrrr I didn't event say for slightly stoopid. I came to see Fishbone and they rocked it out!

  • i saw these guys open for slightly stoopid last night and if was fucking amazinggg!!!! intense mosh the whole night! one of the guys was crowd surfin the whole time and moshin with us. it was my first concert ever and a very memorable one for what ill remember! lol

  • I called my baby PUSSY. P-U-S-S-Y

  • I'm seeing these guys in a couple days, as it's the 25th anniversary of their first single, Party At Ground Zero.

    I'm so fucking pumped.

  • BONE!!!!

  • @CLFBrooklyn YOU FORGOT THE "R" IN BONER

  • I saw them perform almost three years ago in Jacksonville, and they can still rock it out. Amazing performance. I'm looking forward to seeing them in a month here again.

  • wow that was amazing. It started off funky and ended in a more gospel style. nice

  • I also saw this show in Mountain View Ca. @ the shoreline ampitheater ---it was the Gathering of the Tribes--- Wow that was tweenty years ago===

  • What an incredible band. so fucking positive and funky as hell.

some of the best bands in the world are always ignored :(

  • ok man that is the only ad ill ever like nerds lol

  • Screw American Public University....advertisements suck.

    Fishbone rules.

  • @MrJsaiz

brother, you haven't got a clue.

  • @mjmatthewjohnstone

You took the words right out of my mouth.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrJsaiz You're right. They didn't sell out to be part of the commerical machine to line the pockets of the White slave master record execs. Fishbone is the punk band of funk music. Part of being punk is having no desire to have your music associated with a Pepsi add.

  • is this dave matthews produced?? you broke mofo?? get back to da real shit, make your mom n them proud you know where it is

  • I saw Fishbone at the Flood Zone in Richmond Va in 1989! These cats now how to funk it up. Thanks for all the good grooves and countless moments of of musical nutmeg!

  • @fafhrd68 Were you in Richmond when 'The Cellar Door' was still the place to be?

  • they vevo FISHBONE! F#$^% VEVO!

  • These guys didn't get the success they deserved.

  • theres a fork syuck in myassssss!!!

  • I SAW THESE GUYS 20 YEARS AGO - IT WAS A KICK ASS SHOW!!!!!

  • FISHBONE REUNION...DO IT FOR YOUR FANS!

  • Fuck commercials... I hope Youtube paid homage to the Fonz as it Jumped The Shark...

  • glory days.

  • The most slept on band in the history of Rock...PERIOD!

  • this takes me back to the days of M.U.T.T.Y. Styley. and going to coos' cafe and the trubadore.great times before the shit got real for me.

  • a great Friday song...

  • Thanks Fishbone I owe you my life!

  • I'll never see a better shown than Fishbone, with Living Colour, Moore Theater, Seattle, WA, 1989.

  • @weblogalias I was there! Fucking awesome show as always!

  • @weblogalias

wow, that must have been sum heavy shit

  • @weblogalias Damn, brother. Living Colour and Fishbone together?! Sweet mother! Talk about a dream come true. And '89? Wow.

  • I saw the show in chicago in 1991. Drove 3 hours from Bradley Univ just to see the show and drive back. crazy times. Angelo brought a girl up on stage to do "If I were a .....I'd" She kicked ass. Primus was on stage first and Angelo was just walking around in the crowd.

I think it was at The Riv. Angelo jumped off the balcony into the pit.

  • @dannoyou I was also at the Riv show and was at the end of the pit that caught him. They played till about 3am and they had to shut the power off to get Fishbone off of the stage! Amazing!

  • Saw Fishbone backin the mid 80's at UCONN. MENTAL show! Nothing like these tame videos. Non stop insanity - it was beyond awesome!

  • I saw these guys live in 1991 and it was easily the greatest show I've ever seen. Primus opened. Small theater, no seats, just a giant mosh pit going off for three hours straight. Fishbone in their prime were like a freight train live, unbelievable energy. Angelo Moore came out and sang a heart-wrenching a capella song at the end, which is simply incredible seeing as he had been absolutely manic for two hours. Life changing stuff, 18 years ago and it seems like yesterday.

  • hiro111, saw that tour as well... They were incredible and so was Primus. They can groove and rock at the same time. What an influencial band.

  • @DWDave67 I alsao saw this tour in Ohio. Two things I remember are Les Claypool playing off against the Fishbone bassist in a tit for tat bass-off and Angelo jumping off stage and climbing a balcony to the second level where he ran through the crowd still singing. Classic.

  • @hiro111 can you tell me about norwood

  • @hiro111, sounds like the same exact show I was at. Those shows were the bomb!

  • @hiro111

i just came back from a show this instant... they were fucking amazing. def mejor energy. it was mind-fucking

  • @hiro111 I saw that same tour...they were crazy as hell on stage. I was amazed!

  • @hiro111 I saw them I think 94, when they were at Lolloapaloopa-Absolute best,most hardcore band there!

  • @hiro111 OMG THAT WOULD BE SWEET! I saw primus with gogol and it was awesome. add fishbone add more awesomeness

  • @hiro111 going to see them on the 15th of this month..Mill Valley Masonic Hall

  • @hiro111 That is the shit bro! Wish I was there! PEACE!

  • @hiro111 dude i saw fishbone this last friday. they still got that energy

  • @hiro111

saw the same tour in Philadelphia.

My clearest memory is people throwing trombones around the stage.

    awesomesauce.

  • @hiro111 - if they ever invent time travel, I wanna see that show!

  • @hiro111 yep saw that situation at the Beacham Theater in Orlando. the place was literally shaking

  • I agree...Best live band ever!!!!....So Sick!!!

  • I HATE VEVO.

  • Yeh.. because seeing videos at maximum quality and being able to link and embed the videos is a bad thing -_-

  • Best live band ever. More energy than 1,000 Metallica shows. Pure fun!

  • @johnbharris

    TOTALLY AGREE!

  • Fishbone is an incredible group.

    FUCK VEVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YEEAAHHHHHHHHH FUNKTASTIC BABY!
