To clarify what xbendiistraw meant. He wishes he was born in the 1700s.....as a wealthy and prosperous aristocrat (preferably NOT in France. Guillotine anyone?)
To find more music like this try google for Balkanika ethno. The dominant instrument here is called drombulje. More titles witht the similar etho background "Hop, Hop, Hop - red apple" and under the name of a singers saban bajramovic, Esma Redzepova, Usnija Redzepova, etc. Not nearly as uncommon in Europe as it is in the States. After all Milos Forman (the director is European born).
So do I, but remember - all the music in Amadeus is far from authentic - all modern interpretations, only historical with this film is some use of fortepiano sound... but there again... The clothing is also far from realistic :P BUT - I love the film, the spirit of the last decades of the 18thC is truly there - This is indeed a great film :)
@xbendiistraw i'd totally travel back in time to the 1700's for a few days but there's no way i'd want to be born then haha. i feel like you'd be sweaty, uncomfortable, and sickly like all the time.
I love this very much! I'd see the film and I can remember this beautiful music! Thanks
