4. I agree. I posted one year ago, and have been able to try out glocks more since. However, my original post wasn't necessarily attempting to suggest that Glocks are less reliable than 1911s (which, heaven knows they are not. at all.) I was merely suggesting a gun which I knew to be reliable to someone who was complaining about the reliability of another.
Don't be too angry now. It's just the internet, after all.
@ReclusiarchGrimaldus There is a guy that hasn't cleaned his Glock in 10 years and hasn't had any problems and he still shoots it as his comp gun and fun gun. The guy has a youtube account and is infact in the suggestions. His account is schapman43. Nothing wrong with rapid firing if the bullets hit where they need to.
@ReclusiarchGrimaldus Oh yeah, 1911s are not good guns to recommend to beginners, they are a gun best for those that are willing to learn the ins and outs of a 1911, my brother is a good example when he got his 1911.
AMMO problems, this is the philippines where even the cops use reloaded ammo, and shitty reloads to boot. if your glock explodes its because you did something wrong, reloads, or wrong caliber ammo, look up glock 19 torture test vid on you tube , it will clear every thing up.
Glocks original design is a VERY VERY nice weapon..the glocks in 9mm are perfectly fine.. its only when they moved up to larger caliber and more powerfull rounds and still used the "unsupported" barrels it became a problem.. Most people dont have a problem with glocks in 40,45,10mm but they are more prone to KB's if a round is overpressured. anyone that says otherwise is an idiot, its a design flaw in the larger guns but the 9mm's are G2G
@dan16802 Actually the 10mm and the .45 ACP were both designed using different frame sizes and parts for the larger rounds and they are fine. Its when they took the 9mm and stuck .40 S&W in it.
the glock was designed to be chambered in 9mm and the unsupported chamber doesnt effect the 9mm round..when glock started chambering pistols in larger more powerfull rounds the pistol becomes flawed in that a slightly over pressured round or weak brass will rupture the unsupported part of the round causing a KB.. I only own a G19 for that reason and shy away from glock in other calibers..for the larger calibers you should pick your ammo very well or get a pistol that fully supporets the round
Actually any 9mm Glock you can pretty much guarantee that you won't suffer from a Kaboom. The Glocks primarily affected by Kabooms are the .45cal models and the 10mm models. There are a few recorded instances where the .40cal models kaboomed, but those are rare. If you get the G17, G19, or G26 you won't ever have to worry.
@YouAreAFuckinFaggot Ummm....no dumbass. The .40 cal were the first and most recorded Glocks suffering from KB's due to the unsupported chamber. The "occasional" .45 would KB from time to time, but those where more likely due to improper reloads. Get your facts straight next time BEFORE you reply.
@SchimidtGmbH Completely agree, you are absolutely correct. ...Just could not resist what was intended to be a light-hearted attempt at humor. In my opinion, Glock quality/reliability is equal to Sig and H&K.
Looks like your Glock(I'm assuming) just suffered a KABOOM. Glock has warned against using lead bullet reloads in their firearms. From what I read, original Glock barrel has polygonal rifling which accumulates lead from shooting lead bullets thus causing increased chamber pressure and Glock barrel has an unsupported area in the chamber at six o'clock position. All these factors could lead to a catastrophic failure called Kaboom if you shoot lead reloads.

@GoldenRing1989 Just follow these simple guidelines:
1. don't buy cheap guns.
2. don't fire them like the dipshit in this video does
3. maintain your gun
4. if you're really that worried, don't buy glocks. Invest in a more reliable .45 acp handgun like a m1911.
ReclusiarchGrimaldus 1 year ago
@ReclusiarchGrimaldus
1. Glocks aren't cheap
2. Firing it rapid like this guy is fine
3. Glocks don't need to be maintained that much at all
4. 1911's are more prone to parts breaking than a Glock, even the expensive ones. Don't believe me? Than you haven't shot your 1911 enough.

1. I know
2. Can be debated, but fair enough.
3. True to a point.

Crappy ammo and unsafe rapid fire handling.

No matter what the argument, I would wearing some tough gloves when handling factory ammo or reload.

@JackSureshot , and what's wrong with reloaded ammo if all other guns are digesting them? ist's not the "shitty ammo".. it's otherway around..
hyndry 1 year ago
@JackSureshot You are correct, Glock recommends against shooting -any- reloads. Factory new jacketed ammo only. Stay safe and Glock on.

@SaigaKiller308 I could blow up a 1911 with a over charged round, look up 1911 kaboom and you'll see 1911s in pieces.
AdmiralGST 7 months ago
actually, glocks have a rather abrupt start where the chamber meets the rifling, so that leads to kbs
