wow, instant flashbacks! i was 16 then. peace goes out to adelaide, it had a really excellent underground techno scene at the time, and some very good underground radio shows that enabled my ears to make contact with detroit. i know it's a typical cheesy thing to say about music, but it changed my life. classic.
@omnivorace You got that right. THe late eighties and early nineties had some killer classics as well..After 2001 or so the majority (not all by a longshot) lost the creative and experimental side that made this music what it is . I think going the mainstream route kinda killed it After DEMF2 it became the movement and you could feel the shift then, They had Carl Craig as one of the top people and they let him go to go into the direction of what is now the movement... Not the same
