How to fix "Oops, Google Chrome could not find" error

Took chrome 1 hour to load the settings page!!! But then I could uncheck the magical boxes that made life so miserable and unproductive! U prevented my screen getting smushed with exploded nerd-face! Thx in name of my whole family and the cleaning crew!
