  • 42 is always the answer, what did you expect :D

  • I don't get why he puts minus signs when switching rows....I usually never put them before. Do you have to put them only when you find determinants???

  • This is really good sir. Thanks a lot for your tutorials

  • its 12:30 am, i got my test at 8 am, and i COULD NOT figure out where those negative's (from swapping rows) were coming from... id be doomed without this video, thank you!!!

  • Perfect explanation, precise and to the point.. .Great Job!

  • you sound like tom hanks btw :D

  • YOU SAVED MY LIFE

  • wow, dude your absolutely amazing. thankyou

  • Ah that's what my teacher was talking about. The only words I picked up were triangle, zero and matrix but now I know what to do. Thanks!

  • seriously, who negs khanacademy...

  • Dear khanacademy, thanks fo your many videos, I have gotten through first and second year engineering at the top of my class. I think I'd be at the bottom if it wasn't for you :) Cheers for your good deeds.

  • Does it really works? Its looks too easy...

  • ty............................

  • fantastic - thanks heaps :D

  • win

  • amaaaaaazing

  • Why can't you be my professor?

  • after you swapped the rows, if you swapped another 2 random rows would the determinate be posative again , minus minus

  • WHAT IF I SWITCH ROWS AGAIN?would that make the matrix go back to being positive?

  • Bob Ross of science ...

  • it.all.makes.sense.now. :D!!!!!!!!! My teacher is just plain horrible when it comes to this stuff. thanks so much!

  • 2.134 videos WTF!

thx for this video just what I need it xD

  • exchanging position are only for rows?? or can possibly be done also in columns.? how can we know if that's the right column or row to be exchanged?

  • exchanging position are only for rows??

  • ur the best thx -.-

  • I don't understand why you wrote a minus after the row exchange..If i'm not mistaken you are just old fashioned row reducing right? Or is it a standard rule that when figuring out determinants you must switch signs when exchanging rows?

  • @enjoyablesounds standard rule

  • @enjoyablesounds according to him, when u change row, the determinant of the matrix after changing is negative of the determinant of the matrix before changing row. That why u put a minus sign.

  • U can't use this when one of the said diagonal is zero...

  • Does this work for any n x n matrix? Or does it have limitations?

  • Words can't describe my appreciation for you!!!

  • Awesome !!! =D

  • Nice stuff! If I'm correct, than this is the same method that's used in the Gaussian Elimination method, right?

Anyways, a huge thank you for this vid, my ass is saved :D

  • cool stuff you are the best...

  • when u changed 6 to 0, can you use either row 1 or 2?or just row 2??

  • I haven't thought about matrices since the sixties. Thanks very much for helping me clear the cobwebs!

  • i see a lot of value in the occasional application video that recaps concepts--thanks

  • great vid man.

Are you a teach, if not you really should be.

  • awsome ! keep up!

  • i needed this, thank you
