Much obliged for some pointers on this. Just recently downloaded this software and I've been able to figure most of it out so far but there are still buttons and menus I wasn't using because of my lack of knowledge on what it is they do.

I bought the license do VideoPad, but the new version came with a problem I can not solve: the speed of the timeline is much higher than what is shown in the preview and Sequence Preview.

As the Preview Sequence and preview is showing the 15:00 position the Timeline is already showing the 25:00 position.

I've tried changing the speed on the effect funcion, but does not change. Even being at 100% speed, the speeds are different.

What do I do?

Hi. On Fraps, it says it is 29.97 Frame Rate. Does this mean I should select 29.97? Thing is, this is a screen capturing thing, which - isn't it supposed to be at 30.00 for screen captures? But Fraps says 29.97.

Fraps is its own video capture program that's designed to work with your TV, and if Fraps is using 29.97 fps on the video capture, then select that frame rate for Videopad. I'm just giving a general idea of the fps specs for different video capture devices... the owner's manuals have the most accurate specs.

I've spent over 4 hours on my video, I was relieved to finally be able to save it. After I saved it as a wmv, I replayed it on Windows Media Player and it was wayyyyyyyyyy too fast. The audio and video were completely out-of-sync. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a mistake of my own, I've retried it a thousand times. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong or has this happened to other people?

@lxlheathenlxl What is the recording speed of your AV recorder? For example, cell phones record at 15 fps while PCs record at 30 fps and digital cameras record at 25 fps, and you need to save at the correct fps speed of the AV recorder to have the video play back correctly.

in the preview i see the muzzle flash

but when i make movie i cant see the muzzle flash

i try to change the frame rate and then i see a muzzle flash of the first shot

but then the 2nd not 3rd i do and 4rf yh random

When I make videos with this program, I create them as wmv. When I import it is Sony vegas, it plays the audio, not the video, it gives me a red thumbnail throughout the video :S However, I convert the same video I made with videopad the same file with mediaconvert, and somehow sony vegas plays the video. What is wrong with videopad?

@fanofwrestling123 I'm only guessing here, but I would say that the specific video codec that you're using in VideoPad isn't recognized by Sony Vegas even though it will open wmv files. If you're using the default VideoPad codec, try saving with a DivX or XviD video codec instead or whatever other brand name video codec is recognized by Sony Vegas and see if you get the same red thumbnail results.

@cameronrader92 I have no idea from here what might be causing that, but I would probably first check the FPS, frames per second, to make sure that what you recorded at is also what you're saving at. Different devices have different FPSs, check the owner's manual.

@CDT12177 You'll want to use VirtualDub for slow motion and fast motion effects, another freeware movie editor. Only works on .avi files.
