Man muss das Bein beim De-Ashi-Barai konsequenter in der Luft (Barai) Wegfegen und mit dem linken Ellenbogen weiter nach innen drücken. Die Anleitung ist falsch und sollte gesperrt werden, denn es könnte Judokas zu einer schlechten Prüfungsnote beihelfen. Daher von mir ein Daumen runter.
@jeremy426f Sweep moves are slightly hypothetical in that they assume certain responses, but they do work very well.
When I miss the sweep or the opponent doesn't move as I expected I just transition into another throw. Most often they're allready off balance even if things don't go exactly as planed.
As a throw they are extremely low risk to attempt, leaving you in a good position to continue fighting.
@jeremy426f Funny, I know a guy who used footsweeps to put down two of his three attackers in a fight (he seoied the other). Footsweeps are nasty once you get good at them, but it can take years to get the timing down. This isn't a particularly good example, but it's not bad either. They take no effort.

@jeremy426f Pull them forwards or push them backwards, and they'll take a step.
Judo teaches you to control and destroy and opponent's balance, it's not just about waving your foot around and hoping they'll fall over it.
