In the co op intel it said about the promethus weapon. The promethus weapon wiped the chimera off their world and it also said daedelus was contructing it, Maybe he managed to. But i think this promethus weapon teleported the chimera world away but now the chimera re-used it and did the same to earth. Thats my theory anyway

That broken planet was the Chimera home world destroyed do to a battle they had with an extinct race that either lived on earth or travelled to earth when that extinct race was still alive. And that extinct race fought and beat the chimera, that's why the planet is broken.

To the first part, the file was SRPA Scientists. They figured out that the Grey Tech was not Chimera, and that it belonged to another race. At that point, they weren't sure if the other race was allies with the Chimera or not.

Second part: The Tunguska Event, where an object from space fell onto the Earth in Siberia, in 1908

The information is gathered from intel of both games, along with R2's Coop.

To the quote you mentioned, it is: "You think this planet is your birthright, but it was first ours. It was ours ages before you walked upright, and now it shall be once more."

It means that Earth was part of the Chimeran Empire long before we have evolved; around 65 million years ago.

When I first saw this seen, I thought that they were going to tear apart the Earth to rebuild their planet.

No, they are not like the Necromorph; the opposite actually. They need to infect living people. If they are dead, than they are only useful as food.

Unfortunately, the cure is meaningless at R3's point. The Chimera have their army, and they are just hunting out the remaining Humans. As in, to finally destroy the last of us.

From what I'm getting, their homeworld was destroyed by the other race. The remaining Chimera found our world, and built the towers, to transport our world, only for the other race to follow them here. Of course, you already know the rest.

They wouldn't have intentionally lead them here. This is also just my theory.

The home planet appears to be completely uninhabital. A whole hemisphere is blown off, which means that the pressure on the core is nonexistent. The planet is dead.

The reason why they got rid of the Conversion Centers is because each tower is already equipped with one. The ships might also have their own centers, but I don't know for sure.

well I'm sure that touching the Daedalus head sped up the process but that would have happened sooner or later whether he touched the head or not. That's what they were talking about when they said that he only had 3 hours left. It was his last three hours having his own mind and free will. After the 3 hrs were up his mind would be melded with the Chimera's. I think the head just gave him more power
