I've had problems from excessive Coca Cola & coffee drinking, also ice-cream is a killer. The best things to eat are cooked vegetables and bland grains. Also, get plenty of vitamin D.
I have Non Erosive Reflux Disease diagnosed by endoscopy last year. Now on Proton Pump Inhibitor Lansoprazole 30mg every other day. Avoid all white wine with all reflux and gastritus problems as it is hugely acidic says my consultant. Hope all of you are feeling better.

Now I understand why I am hurting after the doctor told me during my endoscopy that he took multiple biopsies. So far they are saying I have Moderate gastritis. The endoscopy and biopsies have made the pain I am normally in.... ten fold.
The solution is simpler than you think, drinking water and drinking water. 98% of the stomach mucosa is made up of water, while the mucous thicker is better. And please eat fruits but not acidic or they hurt now. Eat slowly, chew well and when due.

@dietagastritis I drink ONLY water, since I got gastrits, since its the only thing I CAN drink, (other than chamomile tea). I also don't eat sour or spicy food, but I don't eat fruits or vegetables, because they cause EXTREME pain (the fruit caused pain before the gastritis, but not as much). Also, my appetite is too low (because of the gastrits) to survive on anything other than a high carb diet.

@misfootoo Thanks dude. I was diagnosd with this condition and given omeperazol for 15 days. Later on, it turns out all that pain was from gallstones, and I had my allbladder removed, ever since then, no more stomach pain

Gatritis cannot develop into cancer, its does HOWEVER make your more vulnerable, but it doesnt develop. it just mean if you have gastritis and you consume irritants, its gona damage you a lot more than it would if you didnt have gastritis. Which could then cause stoamch ulcers... which again damages cell tissue, which can then mutate and become cancerous.

I also quit weed for a year back then, but with no improvement.
@humanhere1 Like I said earlier about pain relief. This is the only thing that works. I got a zofran prescription from my doctor, but that shit was pretty weak, AND it had some side effects like headache and stomach ache (which defeats the purpose of getting rid of nausea). Also, like I said, I saw no improvement in 9 months of total abstinence, even though I took prescription acid reducers.

And yeah, it is hard to live with nausea, and stomach pain, EVERY DAY, for 3 years. I've had pains of all kinds by now, and the worst involves nausea. At least with severe headaches, I can pull through and work with it, but with nasuea, I can't even move from a fetal postion without making the pain worse, and nausea also drains the little energy that I do have.

@dobsondale The irony is that yogurt and bananas are the one thing (except for liquor) that causes me the MOST pain, BY FAR. I ate half a banana once, and had a 3 hour stomach ache. I can't eat ANY fruits in ANY quantity, and I can only eat one or 2 servings of vegetables before pain sets in. Most of my diet consists of complex crabs (bread and pasta) and sugar (sweets and cereal). I love meat, but I can't handle more than 1 meaty meal a day (if even) considering I used to eat meat in every meal

H pylori isnt a major cause of cancer, most people live with that bug unharmed, its only a small percent thats are diagnosed afterwards with cancer, mainly form other reasons and bad diets. and that bug is easyily rid of with the triple therapy, so dont worry about that Bug research it!
The poke was done for biopsy to see if there are cancer cells. I've had some reflux & upper chest pain, blood results came back as Hpylori. Am now on a triple antibiotic for 2weeks plus an antacid & eating Activa Yogurt. I changed my eating habits, more veggies, fruit, less meat. Will have to be tested after I finish meds. I just went through hell of taking the Prevpac for h.pylori/ gastritis. This was sheer misery. My heart was pounding so hard. At rest it was 120 bpm. I basically couldn't physically exert myself. The taste in my mouth was sooo bad. Anyone know of any natural antacid beside Prilosec??

to treat gastritis you have to avoid bad food altogether. minimize foods that are too spicy, too salty, too greasy, too sweet. just have a "bland" diet for a couple of weeks and it should go away. also, what i think would ameliorate the pain is to eat good food in small portions, very important.

Not really, because like with most things it weakens your defense and you become more vulnerable. it does go away but you're likely to have a relapse from time to time. Just avoid things that irritate your stomach

I too was diagnosed with antral gastritis and biopsy came back negative for pylori. My stomach burns bad especially when i stress. My doc also said he didnt see anything major and said i can resume with regular diet. He only prescribed zantac. I guess he didnt feel any concern.

Dude, you are on to something. I went through everything you are talking about and I think that gatroparesis causes gastritis. I got treated for Hpy, and they eradicated it. But, the pain comes back once in a while. And it's usually when I'm "stopped up." Think about it, if you are plugged up anywhere "down there", nothing "up there" is going to move. Hence, gastroparesis. I have been able to get around it by staying hydrated and taking Metamucil. You are onto my suspicion.

I get this this every once in a while like every 6 months or longer but when it hits me the pain is unbearable and I can't even breath.
I do recommend taking Zantac at the slightest feel of symptoms it seems to help, and if it not I make my self throw up.

I want warn, i do not want terrify. But the neglected gastritis, is perilous. Before the cure Im wince with pain. I remember that my sister asked... What are you doing? I feel a pain in stomach.... I am telling . And she: Pain? Well, you lie in your bed. Week is your feed herb tea. In a month you grow slim 8 kilograms. Its not normal.
I hate investigation, hospital, dentists....
But I was persuaded, all was too conspicuous :(
But really ... gastritis is not fun.

I was very attenuate. Salivating, lack of appetite, convulsions, bellyache. I thought that is it a cancer. I was in the hospital one month. Week with a dropping funnel. I was told that is it very hard gastritis. The cure was one month. Diet, no coffe, no alcohol, no stress, no chips, no painkiller(analgetic), vegetables, good sleep, no smoked meats, no very warm feed. Failing which hospitalization. Now I have other regime. At the beginning it was very hard. But now I am accustomed

I got this twice this year, and it's defenetly not fun. I can verely resist the pain, I have to follow a very strict diet. But that doesn't really bodder me. What I can verely stand is the pain, it makes me cry, and I pry to something, 'cause I don't believe in good, to pleace stop!

Ive been suffereing from gastritis for 4 months now.. most miserable time of my life; I wake up early nauseous, have a poor appetite, and have a constant dull stomach pain.. the ONLY medication i've found to help me cope is smoking marijuana (best help with nausea). I wish more people and doctors weren't so ignorant to the medical and healing power of this great plant.

got diagnosed with gastritis today, it hurts badly, a burning sensastion in my upper belly,gas and most fo the time its unbearable! now im on a diet where for this week, ONLY WATER and no fired or spicy foods, all im allowed to eat is chick soup and noodles, anything else puts me at risk for a painful attack... :( a question though, is orange juice bad for ur stomach?

@misfootoo Thanks dude. I was diagnosd with this condition and given omeperazol for 15 days. Later on, it turns out all that pain was from gallstones, and I had my allbladder removed, ever since then, no more stomach pain

I am 30 and I have gastritis. Doctor told me its not serious. Told me not to get endoscopy for another 5 years. Every morning I have stomach pains. When i press upp stomach i feel pain. When i stress it hurts the most.

@humanhere1 Well my doctor send me antibiotics...lots of them for like two months, and a med called Omeprazol (proton), Now that I'm bacteria free, i'm taking an organic juice based on potato and carrots, aloe, and a plant called targa....you should look for it its made by a company call Natural life, it works as heaven since i'm taking it i don't have to take pills for the pain anymore.

Well I'm sorry i can't tell ya the pills names, because i honestly don't remember, but I can say that i didn't took several of them at the same time, it was like: Two or one of them for 3 days or a week and then the number of pills went down and took another ones that were less strong, ya know like, the first ones killed the bitch and the last ones just came to clean the murder scene =P Get it?

It was in for a fair amount of time, I really don't remember. That sucks, I hope I don't have to get it up the ass! :( Im doing this thing now where I have to get my throat dialated once every month at least 6 more time, to get it to normal size, because right now it is very narrow, that's how I choked really bad in roast beef

Gatritis cannot develop into cancer, its does HOWEVER make your more vulnerable, but it doesnt develop. it just mean if you have gastritis and you consume irritants, its gona damage you a lot more than it would if you didnt have gastritis. Which could then cause stoamch ulcers... which again damages cell tissue, which can then mutate and become cancerous.
Get ya facts sorted before making such a statment, especially when tis supposed to be advice!

Basic Gastritis caused by bacterial or viral is not something that will develop into cancer but it will weaken the tissue,
Gastritis in its simple definition is inflammation of the stomach lining, the cause of the inflammation determines whether it can develop into cancer, i.e. alcohol, tobacco, chemicals from drug groups. Perhaps you should now read up on racism and homophobia! :)

... continued: a week and a half, and almost everything I ate caused sharp pain once it reached the stomach. My causes were a lifetime addiction to caffeine, 7.5 years of heavy energy drink addiction, smoking weed (smoke irritates the esophagus), bile reflux (I had my gall bladder taken out because of gallstones; the rock hard billirubin kind, not the soft cholesterol kind), and chronic spitting which basically dries out my esophagus. The worst thing is, I"m only 19.

@humanhere1 I was born with an incurable anemia, which led to the gallstones, which led to the gastritis, so god DEFINITELY didn't bless me, quite the opposite. I'm back to smoking weed, because its one of the only things that gets rid of the nausea and stomach pain, oh yeah, I"ve had this gastritis for 2 more years since then, with no improvement. I also quit weed for a year back then, but with no improvement.

@humanhere1 Like I said earlier about pain relief. This is the only thing that works. I got a zofran prescription from my doctor, but that shit was pretty weak, AND it had some side effects like headache and stomach ache (which defeats the purpose of getting rid of nausea). Also, like I said, I saw no improvement in 9 months of total abstinence, even though I took prescription acid reducers.

And yeah, it is hard to live with nausea, and stomach pain, EVERY DAY, for 3 years. I've had pains of all kinds by now, and the worst involves nausea. At least with severe headaches, I can pull through and work with it, but with nasuea, I can't even move from a fetal postion without making the pain worse, and nausea also drains the little energy that I do have.

@dobsondale The irony is that yogurt and bananas are the one thing (except for liquor) that causes me the MOST pain, BY FAR. I ate half a banana once, and had a 3 hour stomach ache. I can't eat ANY fruits in ANY quantity, and I can only eat one or 2 servings of vegetables before pain sets in. Most of my diet consists of complex crabs (bread and pasta) and sugar (sweets and cereal). I love meat, but I can't handle more than 1 meaty meal a day (if even) considering I used to eat meat in every meal

H pylori isnt a major cause of cancer, most people live with that bug unharmed, its only a small percent thats are diagnosed afterwards with cancer, mainly form other reasons and bad diets. and that bug is easyily rid of with the triple therapy, so dont worry about that Bug research it!

The poke was done for biopsy to see if there are cancer cells. I've had some reflux & upper chest pain, blood results came back as Hpylori. Am now on a triple antibiotic for 2weeks plus an antacid & eating Activa Yogurt. I changed my eating habits, more veggies, fruit, less meat. Will have to be tested after I finish meds. Doc told me what she was gonna do, but I blocked out what she said when I heard the words H pylori. This is serious! I know it can cause cancer :( Sorry to all that have it.

I just went through hell of taking the Prevpac for h.pylori/ gastritis. This was sheer misery. My heart was pounding so hard. At rest it was 120 bpm. I basically couldn't physically exert myself. The taste in my mouth was sooo bad. Anyone know of any natural antacid beside Prilosec??

8 years ?!!! IM 26 and have just been diagnosed with gastritis, the pain is making me physically weak and near to tears at times, my diet has been totally altered to bland salad and bland vegetables, water and ginger/mint tea.
I just dont know how much longer i can do this :( its making me utterly miserable, i have no energy, i dont get sick pay and im near broke. its ruining my life. :o(

I have said: Probably 15 tablets in a month. Because, I have very strong premenstrual syndrom. If I eat smoked meats, greasy feed, if I too salt. When I have said yes. to treat gastritis you have to avoid bad food altogether. minimize foods that are too spicy, too salty, too greasy, too sweet. just have a "bland" diet for a couple of weeks and it should go away. also, what i think would ameliorate the pain is to eat good food in small portions, very important.

Not really, because like with most things it weakens your defense and you become more vulnerable. it does go away but you're likely to have a relapse from time to time. Just avoid things that irritate your stomach

I too was diagnosed with antral gastritis and biopsy came back negative for pylori. My stomach burns bad especially when i stress. My doc also said he didnt see anything major and said i can resume with regular diet. He only prescribed zantac. I guess he didnt feel any concern.

I've had gastritis. It hurts like hell. It goes away after a few hours though. It goes from hurting to not hurting in minutes. Yes, they were taking a biopsy here. Either that or the doctor is a psycho and just clipping the stomach for fun. I can't believe that is what my stomach looks like. I get it like 3-6 times a year. Less if I avoid eating bad food.

I had that done and they cut it for testing of infection ect. But man that looked really nasty, my stomach looks like that really red. Found out I have gastroparesis but they dont know what is causing it.

Dude, you are on to something. I went through everything you are talking about and I think that gatroparesis causes gastritis. I got treated for Hpy, and they eradicated it. But, the pain comes back once in a while. And it's usually when I'm "stopped up." Think about it, if you are plugged up anywhere "down there", nothing "up there" is going to move. Hence, gastroparesis. I have been able to get around it by staying hydrated and taking Metamucil. You are onto my suspicion.

I think that was a biopsy, they take a little piece of the organ tissue and then take it to the lab for examination, uslualy to rule out cancer.yeah it looks so painfull.
