A fetus is a "potentail life." It is an extention of the mother's life and therefore has no life of its own until seperated at birth. The mother has a choice to what happens to her own body. This procedure is gruesome to say the least and seems highly unnecessary.
This procedure should be made illegal. At this point, the mother has known she is pregnant for some time. I am pro-choice, however, and I think abortion is the first trimester should remain legal for whatever reason the mother chooses. I also think RU486 and the morning after pill should be made available to all women aged 15 and up, without a prescription or parental permission. Making these things easily accessible would reduce the need for partial-birth abortions later in the pregnancy.

I equate the mother's and child's life and in difficult medical situations that doctors do the best to save both, and if a choice had to be made, to choose the one who is most likely to survive. But that is not the even the majority of abortions, those are much more specific situations.
Medical issues are not the main reasons people get abortions. Even then, when the intent is to save the life of the mother and child, its not the same. Rape is 1% of all abortions. And over population in 3rd world countries is more an issue of chastity then anything else. Intelligence is another strong factor that women look for in a mate. b) The reason why we have overpopulation is more than just irresponsible sex. We have contraceptives nowadays so that's actually less of a contribution. This procedure should be made illegal. At this point, the mother has known she is pregnant for some time. I am pro-choice, however, and I think abortion is the first trimester should remain legal for whatever reason the mother chooses. I also think RU486 and the morning after pill should be made available to all women aged 15 and up, without a prescription or parental permission. Making these things easily accessible would reduce the need for partial-birth abortions later in the pregnancy.

And more likely than not (some say only 1% of abortions are associated with rape) the girl made the decision to have sex. Does responsibility ever play a role in this? Everyone has their opinion. This is true. It's also true that when we perform abortions we ARE committing murder, and by coming up with reasons to kill a baby we are just making up excuses. If you support abortion your opinion is garbage, and no person who supports abortion has any right to call themselves Christian. It's not an easy choice? Of course it's not an easy choice to commit murder. I'm not going to be nice or sugar coat it for people who had abortions because it's the truth.

While it is true catholics are taught from birth to believe in lies, true Christians (which do not include Catholics) are led to God on their own free will. I was not raised as a Christian. I had no spiritual guidance growing up. I made the decision to become one when I was an adult. There is evidence out there that supports the possibility of God existing. b) The reason why we have overpopulation is more than just irresponsible sex. We have contraceptives nowadays so that's actually less of a contribution. The thing that has allowed us to be so prosperous (perhaps too prosperous) is the fact that we have advances in the health care field. We used to not live past 30. Now we live until 80 or 90, and can have kids still at old ages. Using your logic we should let cancer patients and old ppl die off. Survival of the fittest right?
