Oh you are wrong Maury, as the human kind may as well already be dead. These people, a failed point of evolution in which they have the brain to "think" but no ambition or understanding for it to matter. Our society, the symbol humans have made for themselves... a bunch of animals with the ability to civilize primitive instincts. Human kind is dead. It is time for the exceptions to rise... (Even if it has to be those apes)
@ gumballs21 Actually the big crunch is the least likely scenario in regards to the fate of the universe. The heat death is much more likely. The heat death is when due to dark energy's influence over the expansion of the universe, a state of maximum entropy (complete disorder) is reached and after all the matter of the universe has decayed, including black holes, all that will be left is a sea of photons and time itself will cease to exist. After that who knows what will happen.
It's amazing that we are the only living things (that we know of at the moment) that are able to take in all this knowledge about the universe and continue to try and understand it all. We are so fortunate.
You (the one falling into the hole) wouldn't fall slower or even stop. Let's say the guy falling in holds a clock so the outside observer can see it - the faster (or further towards the event horizon) the poor guy falls, the slower the clock would tick from an outside perspective.
@megadrummer2 "future generations" in this instance means many, many thousands of generations in the future; when, due to the ever-increasing rate of expansion of the actual space between all galaxies outpacing the speed of light iself, the light from other galaxies will never be able to reach our telescopes, and thus, we will no longer be able to see them at all. From that point forward, all other galaxies (and the information therein) will effectively cease to exist to us.
@612Tiberius It has already been happening for a long time. Its called "the light horizon". The expansion of the universe has always been faster then light, anything beyond 12 billion light years (the age of the universe) is outside of what is observable.
Since we are expanding, doesn't this mean we are going to become a giant black hole larger then a Massive Star Cluster? Or doesn't this mean we were all born to die in a black hole? -_-
How can they say that future generations will know less about the universe than we do now because it is expanding away from us when technology over the last 20 yrs has been increasing so fast we can't even keep up with it? Doesn't it make more sense to say that the technology in the future will be much more advanced than today, so I don't think there will be a problem keeping track of what's happening. Hmm, bunk...informative video though.
HAHA whats funny is that they found out the universe is expanding in the 20th century but that was in the quran 1400 yrs ago. So who says religion isn't scientific?
@MrThepwnstar But how could that fact be taken seriously when at that time they had nothing to prove it...they got lucky I guess, like many scientists got lucky stating things that would later be proven.
light follows the curvature of spacetime.black holes warp space around themselves to such an extent that they literally pinch themselves off the universe hence light gets trapped inside its gravitational grasp which is called event horizon

@darkbawat Isn't it just because it follows the curvature of space? A black hole Curving space in on itself exponentially as you approach it? Light likes to go in a straight line! and near and nearer to a black hole... a straight line ALWAYS falls into the black hole! Near enough and space is "falling" FASTER than the speed of light... therefore as light passes on a line towards us passing near enough to a black hole... @keshaz12 I would say that gravity affects space around things, so it warps the path of light. That causes it to travel down into the hole. The hole is growing deeper faster than the speed of light so light can't escape
@keshaz12 You have it backwards, things at higher gravity potentials and faster speeds experience time dilation relative to the outside observer. If you were falling into a black hole the rest of the universe would appear to speed up. The person outside would see you fall slower and slower until you appear to stop. Of course most of this happens inside the event horizon and you would be atomised, so no one would be able to see anything anyway.
@darkbawat Black holes curve spacetime so much that the way the photons have to go is so curved it never escapes. Think of space and time as the same thing and I think you will understand.
I always hated it when the ads would load and the video wouldn't. But it's even worse when the ads don't load at all, and you can't even watch the video.
@SoWhat1221 Likewise just as there is no proof of dark matter/energy existing, it's all conjecture based upon speculation and no evidence, and the need for a cushy well funded job, for scientists greasing their own palms.
@LegoStopmotionTeam "We live in the midst of Nature and are strangers. She speaks to us unceasingly and betrays not her secret. We are surrounded by her and locked in her clasp: powerless to leave her, and powerless to come closer to her. Unasked and unwarned she takes us up into the whirl of her dance, and hurries on with us till we are weary and fall from her arms." -- Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Why isnt this stuff on mainstream televsion, i think the people of the world should be educated whether they like it or not; this is much better than an endless strea of soaps and reality and z list celeb wanabe's
@paradoxstate there are quite a bit of shows that do educate on the cosmos. Spacerip has the advantage of direct information from nasa and the ability to air straight to youtube without having to deal with a 3rd party broadcasting company.
@paradoxstate I disargee, people should be educated at his/her own will. Forcing people to study even though they didn't wanted to is just like forcing a dog to speak our human languages.
@PlushGallade and yet we force children to go to school. Should we stop doing that to? Besides, letting people see these kind of things on popular TV is not the same as forcing people to watch it, but it could increase the awereness of how much we actually know about the universe if it was on a channel everyone could get. I, for one, hate all the reality-shows and think them extremely pointless, but I don't have to watch them if I don't want to.
@paradoxstate I couldn't agree more, Par! These programs are extreemly interesting and I don't mean,"The Big Bang Theroy" sitcom now in sindication! The closest thing to what you seem to be refering to is on PBS (Public Broadcast Station) network called Nova.
Honestly, I could probably narrate this video by myself because I know this stuff so well (conceptually at least). But I still can watch it over and over.
The day we recognize and realize what we are, thats the day we will learn that theres no reason or motive to hate or kill each other. That day Mother Nature will be happy and proud of the burden she bears, that beautiful process called life.
@spacerip Hey spacerip can you help me out? My astronomy book tell me that if your at the edge of a blackhole you can escape if you use lightspeed, but other sources disagree saying you have to engage in faster then lightspeed to escape, help?
you stupid retards. why the hack do you upload the same video twice, renaming it????????????????????????? im going to fucking unsubscribe you for that, RETARDS
Ah I did more reading, it has no rest mass, thus is it cannot stay still. Amazing, its essentially nothing, yet its responsible for all energy exchange between particles :O What a fascinating universe we live it :D
@shkotay: One small correction: the photon mediates all energy exchange between particles influenced by the Electromagnetic Force, one of the four basic forces of nature. Two others, the weak and strong nuclear forces, are mediated by other particles, while gravity is believed to be likewise mediated, but no one as yet has managed to prove the existence of a "graviton".
I am a total ylayman, perhaps a physics buff could tell me: how does a particle of light manage to travel forever and not empty the proverbial gas tank and then just sit at some point? If it exists, how could it be massless? If it is indeed massless why does it have a speed restriction? I know its properties and describe them to ppl, but I dont know why these properties are so. There are probably answers out there, just dont know them at the moment :O
I believe that our universe will collapse one day, it's just that our universe is too young to show the signs of ageing (contracting) to see it's real future.
If the sign of cosmological constant is reversed (from + to -) like when the space-time has stretched too much, then no matter how fast universe was expanding it will slow down and start to contract.
But if our universe has too much of total entropy (near the end of ALL of it's cycles) it will end in Big Rip.
:) Hello in your channel

@darkbawat Black holes curve spacetime so much that the way the photons have to go is so curved it never escapes. Think of space and time as the same thing and I think you will understand.
tubehoak 1 month ago in playlist Season 1 14
@darkbawat Gravity is the curvature of space. Photons move in a straight line but they do it through curved space.

I find it sad that people cannot understand this, maybe they should be educated more to understand the universe around them.

Unasked and unwarned she takes us up into the whirl of her dance, and hurries on with us till we are weary and fall from her arms." -- Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

@paradoxstate Easy people are to stupid to understand it.
Dennizjoon 3 months ago
@paradoxstate there are quite a bit of shows that do educate on the cosmos. Spacerip has the advantage of direct information from nasa and the ability to air straight to youtube without having to deal with a 3rd party broadcasting company.
Revis 3 months ago
@paradoxstate I disargee, people should be educated at his/her own will. Forcing people to study even though they didn't wanted to is just like forcing a dog to speak our human languages.
PlushGallade 3 months ago in playlist Season 1

Ah I did more reading, it has no rest mass, thus is it cannot stay still. Amazing, its essentially nothing, yet its responsible for all energy exchange between particles :O What a fascinating universe we live it :D
shkotay 4 months ago
@shkotay: One small correction: the photon mediates all energy exchange between particles influenced by the Electromagnetic Force, one of the four basic forces of nature. Two others, the weak and strong nuclear forces, are mediated by other particles, while gravity is believed to be likewise mediated, but no one as yet has managed to prove the existence of a "graviton".
puncheex 4 months ago
@puncheex Thank you for the correction :D I love physics but am a layman at best. I can use any good info.
shkotay 4 months ago
