We were put here by a creator(s). That same creator put cows, chickens, pigs, "all the beasts of the field" down here for us to eat; as well as veggies, fruits, nuts, and grains. Everything in moderation (even pot). I saw an episode of "No Reservations" where Anthony, after a big meal, says "Now if you will excuse me, I'm gonna go burn one in the van with the camera crew." That Anthony Bourdain is just as cool as the other side of the pillow!!!

There is a morally absolute principle at work here, namely: don't kill living things that can experience pain for the sole purpose of satisfying something so trifling and petulant as your personal food tastes.
@folgermichael You do realize that mother nature itself didn't intend for humans to live on grains and vegetables alone, right? Much less man-made food supplements. And really, what other purpose would everyday cows, chickens, pigs, poultry, and fish have besides being pretty things to look at and being food for humans? If we didn't consume them, it would throw off the food chain unless you manually prevent them from mating which isn't what nature intended at all.

99% of vegans are guilty of this accusation as well. What, do you think that those harvesting fields don't have living creatures that feed off the grains and vegetables you eat and then get killed off during harvest via the machines that gather them?
@folgermichael Are you saying insects and rodents and other small critters can't feel pain too, just because we humans don't commercially grow and eat them like cows, chickens, pigs, and the like? Most vegans don't even grow their own damn food but complain about how we put living animals through a painful experience just so we can satisfy ourselves. Maybe you should take this self-righteous thing you have going on and set it aside for a second. Consider how YOUR food is processed
