Betty collaborated with only one individual, Miles Davis...Her and Miles worked on three tunes, one on each of her first three albums, all slow songs, love songs. She was learning how to master the love song, with the help of her ex-husband. I'm sure eventually Betty would have collaborated with Funkhouse(her backup band) once she had become more successful...we had spoke about that very subject a few times.
As you can hear, Betty had a very sweet voice, but she grew up on Big Momma .Thorton, Betsy Smith , Lucille Bogans, the blues singers of the 30's and 40's. She dug deep to bring their sound out in her voice, but this was the sound she wanted. Her back singers always complained of how difficult it wason their voices to sing the way she wanted them.Betty truely loved the voice of Billie Holiday especially the voice Billie had late in her caree(check out Billie's song STRANGE FRUIT, you'll see.
at 0:56 thru 1:07 behind Betty Davis is Double-Platinum writer and guitarist Carlton Morales of Julian Lennon "Vallotte" . He also played with Kevan Tynes in The Mighty Majors.

Did she solely arrange the music and song or was it a collaborative effort?

Nice work, man. She surely deserves it. If something like a godess exists, she is. And a huge human being.
