He is cheating in this second pushup. How? Well he asks other student to repeat it, but doesnt explain him what exactly he is doing. And what is he doing? He is using his feet to help elevate from the ground, so watch his feet carefully and watch the position of the feet of his student. In fact, it seems that student is much more stronger then teacher because he didnt use his feet at all!
Other strictly fighting arts tend to produce students who are hard headed n love to bash anything other than what they practice. Martials arts is self defense first..and i think karate provides that more than sufficiently. And if ure talking about unconditioned shins, y not have a look at uechi ryu or kyokushin style..speed wise..
@nikdat exactly. This nut job thinks that because HE doesn't like a style or had a bad experience with it (it's not my fault the shotokan school he went to sucked), that the art automatically sucks and anyone who practices it does too. It's easy enough to say that over the internet though, without him having to actually put up. Idiots like him have a very askewed idea of what martial arts is, they think it's sport fighting and nothing more. Don't even waste your time with him.
Kata is where most of the art is when it comes to karate..i believe some define "art" differently when it comes to their preferred martial art and will bash other martial arts and say theirs is the best. Karate, just as many other martial arts purpose is NOT only to be able to defend oneself, it is also spiritual, health beneficial, and personal. These types of martial arts usually produce practitioners who are respectful of other arts, open to new things and disciplined.
can you go any kickboxing club ask them you just ant try free fighting sparring..not shit karate kumite where is rules and control..try sparring full fught after couple low kicks you will understund what is real art..with shotokan people i can fight no arms only with one leg..they do not eve know how to block low kicks they have no condition body bones or shin foot..because shitty kata empty training no pads no power..
@bushidoartss and again, you're making bullshit assumptions about others based on some past experience. Again, i am conditioned, i've fought multiple times, and i've had plenty of experience with "low kicks". You like talking out of your ass alot, but that would explain why everything that comes out stinks so much. Keep rambling on in your head about how amazing you are and how much everyone else sucks, i'm sure someday someone will be impressed.
@bloodriotiori i do not have time to teach american fats martial arts..japan very they love america because only america pay them money for seminar belts graining because you guys so stupid..one man royce gracie came from brazil 1993 and kicked 7 americans ass..all of them was karate mastershiteer they did not survive even 1 minuts..because they thought they training art..i think you good on burger mc donalds but sorry martial arts not for you.bye
@bushidoartss that's because in 1993 (17 fucking years ago you idiot), people weren't that familiar with BJJ. Did i or did i not say i cross train in MMA now as well? My god you'd think that just because you can't speak english worth shit that you're using it as an excuse to just be stupid in general. You've got nothing of value to retort with, so you resort to insults, because you sir, are an idiot, nothing more. Like i said, keep talking behind your screen, it's all you're good at.
@bloodriotiori mma was not in 1993 fucking idiot..first mixed martial arts was founded 1980 by Takashi Azuma.. Daido Juku.. boys who train 4 month they can kick any 10 dan shotokan masters ass
@bushidoartss it must be fun to be stupid lol. You think kata is a waste of time? You clearly didn't do very well when you practiced shotokan if you didn't pick up the benefits of kata when you did it. Some people i swear -_- go ahead and explain to me why it's for "lazy" people.
@bloodriotiori can you tell me why you practising kata? if you wanna learn martial arts there is kudo, muay thai, bjj, why are you practising this shit ?i know why you are not interested in art you are interested in belts in light training you deceive self..
@bushidoartss because kata helps you internalize the movements you learn from day to day :) Are you so retarded that you think people who practice japanese martial arts ONLY practice kata all day? Ya...i think you are -_-
@bloodriotiori kata helps internalize the movements?you guys too far from martil arts...what movements are you talking about?that movement just fantasy and not going work in real situation..better to do shadow fight 10 minuts then 1 year kata...bulshit you guys never fight and have no idea what is real fight..
@bushidoartss lol and what movements would those be that you speak of? We trained jabs, reverse punches, roundhouse kicks, backfists, and grappling. Every single one of those movements is more then applicable in a real situation. Again, you are full of shit. And i do plenty of shadow boxing, more then you i'm willing to bet. So quit blabbering, you sound like a moron.
@bloodriotiori listen fat ass your cross is gyaku zuki only for stupid people..look at how you do gyaku zuki all face head open..one single counter elbow or knee thats all..thats why 1993 royce gracie in free fight kicked 6 karate masters ass..all karate is game you will punch like this i will block like this then then and then bulshit..you guys watching too much movies..you need get some fuck up then understand to train real martial arts
@bushidoartss lol and again your stupidity baffles me. You think we actually fight the same way we do line drills or kata? Ya, you just proved to me you've never been in a fight in your life, let alone with an actual karate practitioner. Keep dreaming dumbass, maybe one day you'll get to run into one, and you can talk your shit, and you can see how well that works out for you lol. What an idiot thinking that we fight the same way we practice line drills. You humor me.
@bushidoartss and i'd like to correct something for you. You're going to want to take off your profile that you "fluently speak English", because you don't sir lol. If i didn't have so much experience talking to idiots on youtube i'd barely be able to understand you. You also should take off that you practiced shotokan, you'd think you'd be embarrassed by that based on how you talk lol. You're a great example of why people DON'T like martial arts, because they think they turn into you lol.
@bloodriotiori i can speak russian japanese tuskish what language can you speak?i do not know any americans who can speak other languages because stupid stupid . your brain is chiken brain
@bushidoartss lol again sir, don't insult my ability to speak any language when you type "because stupid stupid" and "your brain is chiken brain". You do nothing to help your case lol. You only look like the idiot that i know you are. And did i say mma was founded in 1993? No you god damned moron i did not, i simply said back in 93, most people weren't that familiar with grappling. And yes, i'd like to see your 4 month trained fighter beat a 10 dan shotokan master. God you ramble alot.
deadguy29, you dont get slow motion training at all or the value of core muscle devlopment, this sensei was doing top competitions into his 50's ex jka instructor, 2ic at wkf under yahara so he sees and understands his value
Those are useless exercises! To improve as a karateka (this applies to the art as well as to the applications) one must develop EXPLOSIVE muscles, and that's not accomplished by spending this much time on the slow motions.
this guy looks like a mental patient in his ghia. but this is about core. there is no speed with out core. fast push ups dont do what this does for your core. try it properly/
Akihito Isaka is considered one of the most explosive karateka, the principle is that you get explosion from using each and every fiber in your muscles, now each fiber can't be partially tensed so the muscle only uses as many fiber it needs for a movement, when you do these slow exercises your muscle fibers will get tired in a few seconds so the muscle will start using more and more of them, until it REMEMBERS to use all fibers, so you always get 100% out of them.
@Vadrianff Wow that is a good approach, my question is should I be doing same number of reps as I do with fast push ups or should do only that I am able to when doing slowly?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Mmmm...he does one push-up in slow motion and somehow people think is impressive? If you want to look at serious, real karate practitioners please search for Yahara, Kagawa, Tanaka, Elwyn Hall, Frank Brennan, and a long etc. I've seen three videos of this guy already, trying to figure out what the hell is this all about, and just wasted 5 mins. of my life...
I agree that one standard push in its own right is pretty tame... just try repeating the move he does from 2.00 mins - I would be amazed if many can do this. His hands are about 18 inches above his head - he aint using his shoulders here - his entire body core is in tension and provides the force to lift body weight up.... just as the body is tense at kiai point (for an infinitely small amount of time) and creates explosive power
respects tonyvalente BUTof coure a sprinter jogs, the point he is making is resistance and stamina thats why he aint doing high reps, karate punches arnt stiff as you say,i dont think you warrant or have earned that small opinion my friend, bow
push up are done on your knuckles if you value you wrists! he may spend a lifetime looking for that golden student and when he finally finds him his wrists are fucked from his bad teaching techniques!
not at all! try that with any exercise you excel at. take 8 seconds to lower the weight (wether its your body weight or equipment) pause at the bottom and you will notice it is easier to lift the weight.
very nice - stop by and check out my vids - i have some push ups on there among other things
