I'm going to ask a question. The question is as follows:

Why do they risk that mans life trying to de-fuse the bomb. Wouldnt the easy option be to stand quite far away and shoot the bombs to blow them up, or put their own bomb in there to blow them all up.

I will accept answers from anyone but only genuine responses will be appreciated.

@australianstheway I'm just guessing, but they probobly defuse the bombs and take them to a safe location to blow up. They wouldn't want to blow up the neighborhood where they're trying to earn the locals trust

@callMEdrLUV the main reason i dislike The Hurt Locker is that its unrealistic. i don't like watching unrealistic military movies.and there was just no plot to get interested in.and i never got to a point where i cared about the characters or what happened to them.

i prefer military films such as Generation Kill, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Black Hawk Down, 71 into the Fire, Letters from Iwo Jima.

when i watch those, they are more realistic and i actually care for the characters

I myself am a bit short on the specifics, but all the negative criticism of this film came from veterans, and current soldiers.

For one, they'd probably form a much larger perimeter around the bomb than just 30 feet away.

Yes, it did have a plot. The plot was about what U.S soldiers were exposed too in Iraq and in Afghanistan. It was completly worth getting the best picture because not only was it fantastic with acting, but it showed the truth. Soldiers go through this in Afghanistan.

This movie ended in the exact same way it began. There was only one character that really mattered, and he didn't change at all. There was no particular antagonist and no conflict that took up the whole film. Sure there was conflict, and there were miniature plots all over the place, but there was no ONE conflict, and no ONE plot. There is no beginning middle or end. It is all the same.
