My copies of 'Exorcism and the Church Militant' and 'Demonic Abortion' just came in the mail today. My mouth dropped when you mentioned it due to timing. Fr. Thomas Euteneuer is a great speaker and his book looks very enlightening.
He's totally right those clinics are dark places. I know nurse who when in school was forced to tour an abortion clinic. It was a creepy place that shut down and she tells me it's been converted to a gay bathhouse of all things. So it's still a creepy place...
@MakerOfSpartans Catholic priests have the sacrament of holy orders. Protestants have misconceptions about the nature of Christianity. Protestants do not have access to the authority of Christ, which is manifest through the Church.
@RealCatholicTV --good one. An example of some that did not have the proper authority is found in "Acts 19:13-20" where the seven sons of sceva tried to cast a demon out of a man and the demon in the possessed man turned upon them and beat them and they fled away naked.
There is a wonderful passage in Sacred Scripture where non-Apostolic Christians were attempting exorcisms only to be mocked by the Devil. I could hand out the passage to you but it is more important that you look it up yourself. That's what my father always told me growing, "Go look it up in the dictionary and use it in three sentences otherwise you'll never remember it." God Bless.
@MakerOfSpartans: Lay people can cast out demons as well through prayers of deliverance. *However*, remember what happened to the men in Acts 19:13-16 who attempted to exorcise a man but were beaten because they had no authority ("who are you?"). A priest who solemnly exorcises operates with the full authority of the Church, which is given him through the bishop. Protestants and other laymen who attempt to exorcise, especially popular in the Charismatic movement, often do more harm than good.
prayer stops evil. Prayer is weapon against evil one.

Perhaps it would be highly advisable for a number of priests to pray the prayer of exorcism outside of Congress while they are in session?

What is the difference between catholic exorcisms and protestant prayer? Can protestants cast out demons as well?
