Aww Ruthie as Fantine.. no one compares to her portrayal. Her voice is heavenly beautiful and her acting is so good. She's my absolute favourite, though I respect other actresses who played this role.

@tfdramaqueen76 Like what? The blocking you mean? I dunno, it's a little wierd at times, but I think this anniversary was supposed to be a celebration of the music, the nitty gritty of the show. I mean the music's so good you can just listen to it and see in your head a vivid picture of what's happening. As long as you don't mind using a bit of imagination, it's okay.

Strangely, they say 'Le Mayor' in the version of this with lyrics, but it should be 'Le Maire' (as you can hear), which is the French translation :)

Why does he say Monsieur Lumiere?? Valjean's pseudonym as mayor was Monsieur Madeleine, no?
