@xxwhatevahxx...MJ was also documented at running the 40 from his freshman year of college to sophomore year from a 4.6 to a 4.3 and having a 48" vert in his prime.
my favorite part of this vid is the total lack of surprise and/or emotion given to us by the announcers...."49 points, 12 rebounds" is glossed over as just another MJ night. today, whenever someone like LBJ or KOBE puts up these numbers we are ready to annoint them "better than MJ"
Jordan was as mentally and athleticly gifted as Trent Tucker is UGLY. No wonder he was UNSTOPPA-BULL... Meanwhile, Stu Jackson looks like a member of Shalamar!
@worldlfree Gichrists plays is little resemblance to Jordan. great prospect and a competitior. could be a lottery pick but his body movements, skill set looks nothing like Jordan. still a little stiff on some of his movements where jordan was fluid from carolina to his last shot against utah in 98.
man Ewing was beast..did you hear his stats. That's impressive. As a Bulls fan, I kind of feel bad the Ewing didn't have another go to guy that mid 90's Knick team. He probably could have beat Houston if he had a good shooter instead of John Chucks. MJ as usual..man amongst boys
@xxwhatevahxx Yeah baby, documented. MJ ran 4.3s 40 in his sleep after his freshman year. Ran against Deon Sanders in 1990. world-class speed at that time. young folks are stiffs, dont know history.
Yeah, the 47 second mark is just INSANE acceleration and speed. Look how quickly he gets to full speed, and how fast he gets from outside the three point line to the basket. Amazing. Someone recently posted a game vs. Philly from the '90 playoffs where Jordan does basically the same thing, and his speed is just as striking there. The fastest player above 6'4" in history.
at 0:47--- amazing quickness and acceleration there. really he is the only one that quick at the height.
at1:46--- typical jordan with a bit travelling there. but he is very quick with his feet it is quite hard to catch for the ref from that angle. again only jordan can do that palming the ball.
some time when i see other players palming the ball i wonder why they didnt utilize it like jordan..it gives the player so much adavantage on where to put the ball on the ground.
i saw drexler, kemp, and pippen or even harper doing it.. i guess it is because since they dont really have the same dribbling skill or explosiveness compared to jordan.
also at 3:28...that is too smooth to be real. big stride and one dribble to the hole, how much economy of plays do we see today like this?
Realistically speaking. All MJs 47+ pts games should be counted as 50 pts games. He forcefully took himself out of scoring situations & played as playmaker or headed to the bench. Just look at this MJs 3 game scoring steak of 69/18 followed by 49/12/5 followed by 47/6/7/3.
Hard to imagine NBA critics put that gay ass Kobe in the same league as MJ. MJ scored against divisional rivals conference rivals who were pound for pound Bulls equal.
if you look at the shot selection of kobe and jordan you see big difference there. jordan always takes open jump shots while kobe will always put up in your face shots, it is one of the many reasons why jordan has higher fg%. that also implies jordan knows how to get open a lot better, either with the ball or without.
mj foot works is also a lot of practical than kobe, on top of that, mj fadeaway shot seems to be a lot more accurate than kobe's.
@popeyeisgood As Phil has repeated multiple times, shot selection is Kobe's biggest weakness. He has the skills to match or even exceed Jordan no doubt but his decision making is what's holding him back. Jordan rarely FORCES plays, he honestly takes what the defense gives him.
@laepnud It's more like Jordan has more moves to go to which makes it easier for him to get the shot he wants. If you really look at Kobe's game, he has about 4 moves max that he goes to but usually he makes up his mind about shooting instead of reacting instinctively to what the defense and defender is doing. His teammates saved his ass in Game 7 of the past finals. He actually hurt his legacy with that performance.
And with limited FT's (9 apiece) in the 47 and 49 point games. Imagine if he was given 15+ FT's like players today are for no reason? I heard someone comment that Jordan has BY FAR the most 48-49 point games of anyone. Jordan had 15 games of 48-49 points as compared to 3 from Kobe. Jordan had 12 games of 49 points as compared to 0 by Kobe. Jordan just didn't care about getting that extra point or else he would have made sure to put his 50+ point game count out of reach in these sorts of games.
am i the only one who saw ewings dunk at 37 seconds?

No. If John passed the ball after the second miss, Ewing would've had a ring. The Rockets only won by six points in game seven.

everyone making a big deal about LBJ's stats all around. imagine him getting 69 points and 19 boards and then next game 49 points adn 12 boards! LOL

andgar923 2 years ago
58.8% (20/34), 33% three (1/3), 89% ft (8/9)
He had 47 points on 69% (20/29) after this game, against Miami with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals.
He had 5 steals, 2 blocks in this game.

Damn.... thanks.
Btw
Do you or anybody know how many times Mj was close to a triple double while scoring 50 pts?
It seems as if he was always close, but either sat down or didn't care for it.
Thanks.

and then we can go into athleticism and natural body features like bigger palms and stronger core body strength and stamina.
i can see this version of mj destroying the leborn and kobe or wade now, without any doubt.
