Vinyl is the most overrated music medium ever and people who still champion it are deluded. I'm old enough to have started with vinyl, cassettes and then CD. Crackle and fuzz is not part of the recording mix and the bass is often very shallow on vinyl. People say the vinyl has a natural warm sound, no it has a poor reproductive sound. CDs played on proper audiophile equipment is in a different league.
@Ryoga2K thanks, I thought it was Benson I just couldn't place it. I love the vintage 70's Marantz stuff as well. I used my Marantz 2285 to DJ a party once and it kicked some serious butt. I also have the 2236, the 2216, the 5220 cassette deck -needs restoration, and the 6300 turntable-just had that 1 restored. I just need a nice pair of 70's Marantz speakers with a 12" woofer to make a complete Marantz system. Any recomendations on Marantz speakers?

It's looking awesome - nice to know that someone is resepecting those vintage sytems. Just bought a 2270 receiver by myself. Greets from Germany.
