  • oh, well i guess the phrase "aluminum creates a poisonous gas when heated" isn't straight forward!! what did you think i meant!?! and by the way, this:!?!?!?!?!?!?" means im asking a question while yelling

  • @TheNorrwen what the hell are you talking about? I was the one that said that. You're not making sense. And why the f would you be yelling at me? what's the big fn deal? Go to your room!!

  • shouldn't make stoves out of alluminum cans or cook w/ alluminum foil. Alluminum creates a poison gas when heated. I know it won't kill you on the spot but prolonged exposure ...

  • @homeagent what are you talking about!?!? what about when you cook cookies in the oven or other things!??!?!?!?! that was a retorical question. God, you're a retard.

  • @TheNorrwen you got no reason to call me names, asshole. & what rhetorical question are you talking about? You're not making sense.

  • @TheNorrwen ha, you say i'm retarded? why don't you learn wtf I'm even talking about before trying to argue... especially in public where you risk making an ass of yourself. & wtf is all this .. ''?!?!?!?!?!?!?!'' , ?

  • where can i get an alcohol burner like urs?

  • great idea, gonna try it on a hobo stove, many possibilities, thanks

  • good job...that muffin looks tasty

  • This is an awesome idea, I'm trying to find a way to not eat only oatmeal for breakfast in the bush. Sure oatmeal's good but after you eat it for EVERY breakfast it gets old. Thanks for the idea.

  • can you use this method to cook any other things that need to be baked?

  • Very good. Ive never "baked" in the field, only dehydrated stuff n drinks. I will have a bash at baking now. Thanks for the video.

  • hey awesome vid jus wonderin wat kinda alcohol stove is tht? jus a normal pressurized one or something else?

  • @jreaper23 made from aluminum beer bottle

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THE LID

  • @napalmonfire made it out of 22g steeel from home depot

  • @beast12101 can you make a video on how to make it

  • @napalmonfire my next video for pathfinder challenge has a close up shot, I just cut it out of the shape, then snipped the edges and bent them up with pliers.

  • First off Sir, both my fiance and I loved the video. Some great ideas we intend to incorporate into our own kits.

However, have you considered getting a small tripod for your camera ?

it looked like you were having some minor issues with trying to open containers and still hold camera steady.

My fiance just told me to hush, so i am going to. ( I am not whipped, She has a valid point)

    The video is very informative.

We both look forward to your others.

  • @reachoutandtouchme thanks for the kind words, and dont sweat it, I got that comment alot from my early videos. I use the Ultra pod II now :)

  • I used 1/2" hardware cloth to create a raised cooking base (no rocks needed in my cup). The best part is it fits in the canteen pouch under the cup itself...so you have it with you whenever you need it. Check out my video on it.

    youtube.com/watch?v=pNWWl5yD4zg

    Keep up the good work.

  • what the heck? the more I look at your page the more I see the same stuff I do!!! This is really strange.... I guess I'm not original after all... Never tried to bake bread with a alcohol stove before.. How do you keep the flames low enough to bake it without burning the bread?

  • @survivalists2012 the rocks insulate pretty well, all depends on the "homemade" stove too. different designs burn different

  • where did you get the stove?...can i buy it some where?

  • @mrSugarglider i made it

  • just got back from camping tried it but failed. i used pam to grease tin foil and it burned really bad. i think i had the tin foil pressed against the cup

  • denatured

  • can u buy these in stores? or are they just homemade

  • which part are u talking about?

  • the alcohol stove

  • I just made it out of budweiser bottles

  • oh cuz they have a whole site dedicated to alcohol stoves

  • Comment removed

  • :O)

  • How did you make your alcohol stove?!

  • lots of vids on it its just the bottom of 2 pop cans forced together carfully w/ some insulation inside ten a fill hole in center and vent holes on brim.

  • A safer method than using rocks would be to use ceramic baking beans, used for blind baking cakes, less likely to explode than rocks. and light too.

  • You do this almost like I do! I made a screen out of expanded metal (gutter guard mesh) that fits into the bottom of the canteen cup. The lid I made was out of a scrap bit of metal with vents that can be closed or opened. I will make a video to show what I made. Even the pot stand is made from expanded metal it cuts down on weight.

  • Damn, that looks better than when you make em at home!

  • I might have missed it, but how long does it take?

  • if i remember right it was about 20min, but you could probably do 15 and let the heat from the rock continue to cook it without the stove going

  • Great video! I can't wait to get out and try this with my cook pot.

  • Great video I added to my faves!!! i have wanted to learn more ways to cook with a canteen cup than just boiling water. lol Great i dea I will try it...

  • alki is the way to go for bugout, next time a fire is going think about how easy and far away you can smell it...

  • Well there might not be wood to smell but you will have em coming in fast and hard for that banana bread. Smell that a mile away.

    God I am hungry now.

  • maby so but i'd rather not give any more notice than i have to.

  • That is my point, I was saying with alcohol stove you might not smell wood smoke but they would smell the naner bread :)

  • ill be damn nice cool neat idea 5 stars

  • Great job, you rock with one hand. I like the demonstration. 5/5

  • Man what a great video!! Fantastic idea. I really have to think about adding an alcohol system to my BOB.

    5/5 big time.

  • yum I love banana muffins! great video awesome job!

I love that little canteen set up! Just wondering what kind of rocks are they? from what I've heard some rocks can pop or explode when heated. I might be wrong but I think river rocks are the ones you don't want to heat. I don't know for sure though. *****

  • just rocks from my driveway, but yes avoid rock near rivers, they have moisture inside that could explode, and remember thats river rise during the year so gather them far away from water.

  • Thanks for the tip. Now I'm off to buy some banana muffin mix.

  • So, you didn't use the cup top? It baked open??

  • Yes I did, I was just saying that if you didnt have a lid, to just use foil to cover the cup.

  • That looks delicious

  • WOW. That is the best result I have seen for baking with minimal gear. Awesome job! 100/5

  • cool.

  • yup..way cool...
