wow! i think all ladies shul have meeting in the ladies room! i dont remember this song at all but i surely loves it now! This song is a good hit for 2012>
LOL I'm a mixed hawaiian, white, spanish etc... guy and I love hearing this on the radio... Over here in hawaii we don't really care what race you are, just so long as you respect others, you get it back. =) "black music" PFFT It's all the same to me, music is music. Grew up listening to everything, how can others like just one genre?
Juror#1: We the jury find the defendents, Bernadette Cooper, Joyce Irby, Lorena Stewart, Cheryl Cooley, Robin Grider, and Lynn Molsby, guilty of being the best all female band ever!

Somebody please tell me who do you know is ever in the mood to get slapped? You slap the wrong person you better be in the mood to get your ass beat....LMBAO!!!
Heard this awesome jam after I got off work one night a week back. 94.5 Old Skool Dallas, TX. I could not stop grooving in my car. This old white lady in a newer Benzo looked over and saw me grooving. She rolled down her window and I had this blasting and she noticed I was younger..30ish...hot...and white...and she did not approve...she gave me that white lady look of "why you listening to "black" music...I said you better get down grandma!...this is a classic jam...this ain't no Lil Wayne crap
@4eternalfreedom I know the feeling. I got those strange looks, too. I was heavily into so-called "Black only" music during during the late 1980s through the 1990s, and a lot of the White people I knew in those days were heavily into Country or hair band music. As far as the older White lady is concerned, perhaps you should have told her "Don't be a freakazoid!"
Don't slap me 'cause I'm not in the mood'! lol Classic, I have been saying that line since I was a kid, I was singing it one time and I had said it so many time's, my cousin and I were working together and before I could finish the line he say's 'yeah I know don't slap you cause you're not in the mood'! We started laughing hysterically, I then played him the song and lost it! lol
Always wondering why ladies go the meeting room, now I know why talking about the other ladies man while the single guys standing along the wall to see ladies to ask to dance. those were fun times, seems like it was yesterday!
I have always tried to find this song.....dam i am so happy, i love that old disco music makes me want to go get my skates on, just makes u wana dance, thank u youTube
What a song! I was a white teenager in the mid-80s, and I attended a high school mostly comprised of African Americans. All the black girls wouldn't stop singing this song in the late spring of 1985. The song was the sh*t, maybe better than "I Miss You", and I bought the vinyl 7". Wish I still had it.
"Don't slap me, 'cause I'm not in the mood!" :) I remember it well.
Fame is a 1980 film that became a tv series from 1982 to 1987. You can watch it on ovation tv (cable). The film and series is base on La Guardia High School of music, arts and performing arts located near Lincoln Center on 100 Amsterdam Ave. The show chronical the lives of young high school students in a performing art school who wants to peruse their dreams of becoming famous in the entertainment industry. In each episode the students sings, dance and act.
@basherman69 Both the film and series shows singing, dancing and acting. The show had amazing actors which some came from the school and some they auditioned that can act, dance and sing. Janet Jackson also stared in the series for one season as Cleo. The film became a Broadway show from 2003-2004. I suggest you watch the original movie and series and not the 2009 film that came out because it SUCK. The film and series are now on dvds.
@fa11234 I understand the series' concept, as I saw the movie once or twice in the 1980s, but I'm not very fond of musicals. I understand that, thanks to Disney's "High School Musical" and FOX's "Glee", similar concepts are making a comeback on TV. However, I'm not too favorable of musicals, so I'll respectfully pass on your suggestions.
@fa11234 Yes, I remember Irene Cara (Coco), who was known for singing movie title tracks during the early 1980s. I saw the movie, but it was a long, long time ago. I remember the TV series was on NBC, but I never saw any episodes.
I can understand that you don't like musicals. I don't like musicals too. But "Fame" is not a musical, it's a comedy and drama show. There is the music and dance aspect because it's a performing act school. The series is much more than "High School Musical" and "Glee"
@damitajo12000 Yeah, I miss those days in high school. Damita jo? You a Janet Jackson fan, too? Those Black girls in school would sing "What Have You Done For Me Lately?" and "Control", thinking they were "all grown" and all that. LOL! Very funny.
Is that right? Oh my goodness! That is just SO interesting. I would like to thank you, on behalf of YouTube, for sharing that information with us! Thank you just SO much! Have a GREAT day!
