There's something about this song, and this video, that makes me cry like nothing else on this earth. I realize I should cry for all the people suffering needlessly or under brutal repression every minute of every day, but that's what an artist's job is, isn't it? Making the unreal just real enough to make us think about what really matters.
I think he was telling her what was going to happen and giving her the choice, and he was sad that she chose to save the woman, even though he knew it was the right choice because she would never be happy with the sad life she'd been given.

I disagree with the premise of this video, that people should give money to beggars. You should not give $ to beggars for several reasons, not the least of which is the likelihood they are shooting up/smoking drugs and/or abusing alcohol. Also, it encourages aggressive behaviour, the next hapless passerby might be assaulted for saying "no." Give the $ to the food bank/soup kitchen/homeless shelter instead.

Music and Industry are such sad words together. Having been a product pushed at one time myself, I'm too tired to be bitter. I finally found out who does this song and one more I taught myself to play when my friend Tim asked me to learn it. Knew I would love it. Understatement. He died a year ago. I have noticed that music with passion and no BS and talent that chills me are underrated, unrecognized or promoted even on Major Labels. And so many Canadian artists are better than credited for.

I'm kind of tired of everyone thinking there's no more "real music" out there. Of course there is! There are artists that are just as talented making amazing music these days! The only reason we hear a lot of mainstream "garbage" is because it's easily accessible to a lot of people, can be easily marketed, and has catchy hooks that allow for a casual listen. You have to look to find more geniune music nowadays, but that doesn't mean it's not out there.

This is such a good song and video. For some strange reason though I think it doesnt translate well over the Net/YouTube as a medium. Also as a concept it doesnt come across well on a tiny screen (helps to enlrage full screen). Excellent directing, lighting,story,makeup,acting...everything.Its one of my all time favorities. Matthew Good sure was in tune with the times back then. Maybe slightly ahead of them.
I don't keep on top of the pop charts, and it's because of a close friend that I'm tuning this one. Strange Days, I don't know of it as being a remake and we all know the trend is to all pop songs of the future being remakes, us older rockers will recognize.

I miss MGB however Matt Good is still making solo albums. His work is amazing. This song like so many others they released in the '90s remind me of growing up in Vancouver. A true inspiration from Canada.

Music and Industry are such sad words together. Having been a product pushed at one time myself, I'm too tired to be bitter. I finally found out who does this song and one more I taught myself to play when my friend Tim asked me to learn it. Knew I would love it. Understatement. He died a year ago. I have noticed that music with passion and no BS and talent that chills me are underrated, unrecognized or promoted even on Major Labels. And so many Canadian artists are better than credited for.

I'm kind of tired of everyone thinking there's no more "real music" out there. Of course there is! There are artists that are just as talented making amazing music these days! The only reason we hear a lot of mainstream "garbage" is because it's easily accessible to a lot of people, can be easily marketed, and has catchy hooks that allow for a casual listen. You have to look to find more geniune music nowadays, but that doesn't mean it's not out there.

This is such a good song and video. For some strange reason though I think it doesnt translate well over the Net/YouTube as a medium. Also as a concept it doesnt come across well on a tiny screen (helps to enlrage full screen). Excellent directing, lighting,story,makeup,acting...everything.Its one of my all time favorities. Matthew Good sure was in tune with the times back then. Maybe slightly ahead of them.

I don't keep on top of the pop charts, and it's because of a close friend that I'm tuning this one. Strange Days, I don't know of it as being a remake and we all know the trend is to all pop songs of the future being remakes, us older rockers will recognize.
