Hey i would like to start this hobby in model trains i have had a look around and that and im wondering how do start like do i buy a train kit ( desertKing) and build off that or start from scratch?? in the end i would like a couple of engines NRs most likey and a decent layout could you please help me of where i could buy the models and track
@raty24 It really depends on how you want to start! If you want to only run Australian locomotives... i dont think there is any packs other than the Desert King, and i think that is out of scale anyway! I Would reccomend buying your own locomotive and a Peco Track starter pack! It just gives you the flexibility of choosing your own train to run! As for where to buy the Models and Tracks. I can only recomend places in Sydney, The shops i know of are, Hobbyland, Hobbyco, Toms Hobbies.
@TheDoctorL yeah i want to run australian locos, and i live in brisbane so. i calculated that it would roughly cost me about justa bit over $500 to start with my own loco and some carriages and track
@2300jsmith Hey, Just out of curiosity what radius corners are you running them on? As basing my information off various Australian rail fourms about 70% of people have problems with them! Just because your ones run perfect dosent mean everyone elses does aswell! Auscision say the wagons can handle 18' corners and in reality they just cant!
I sold my flat wagons basically straight away. They have serious trouble handling 18" curves. Hopefully I can find a suitable replacement, as I hve lots of containers and no flatcars to fit them on.
Wow, overwhelming proof of what? Don't forget out of the factory the coupler pins hang below the rails and need changing before use. And rightly or wrongly, this video doesn't achieve anything.
