  • You were thinking about redoing that tree???

How the f*ck do people learn to draw like this???

  •   it's my army of lol guys

  • 1:32 - a fart?

  • The art is great. Nice work.

  • Dave's Insanity sauce. That'll light your ass up!

  • Jools - "I've not got very much done..."

Damn, dude, you've got a hell of a lot done so far. It would take me a month do get one tile done of your quality. Drawing graphics is painful for me, to much eraser use because of my limited talent.

  • i have to start scripting but can u tell me the rignt way to learn it...

  • I think you can either write your own script engine or use Lua for exemple !

  • No. We wrote our own script engine, but our language of choice is Lua. A scripting "engine" can be written in any language.

  • Well yes of course. Actually, I meant: you can create your own scripting language then create your scripting engine with it! Like a friend of mine did for his RPG!

  • First you say I think, then you say well yes of course.

    Obviously you are talking crap.

Dude, you sure he created his own language?

    I think you misunderstand... everything!

  • 1/ Please don't talk to me like that..

2/ First, i said : I think because i wasn't sure my answer will help the guy who asked the question. The : yes well of course, is to confirm what GyroVorbis said.

3/ I'm not talking crap. The guy really wrote his own scripting language that suits to his needs..then wrote his script engine on it. He didn't use Lua at all. And yes, i know exactly what i'm talking about.

Go back to your sliding modes.. (i can see you are a system engineer or almost ^^)

  • 1. F U.

    2. Yea right!

    3. Well I think you are, but I may be wrong as I can't say for sure.

Lastly, you can't see anyway. You are blinded by your own excuses.

  • Obviously i'm talking to a child, I don't wanna waste my time with you anymore.

  • Oh yeah, obviously. Look at my picture. I'm a child. A 6 foot child that walks on his hands.

  • How many regular expressions did it take for him to make his language?

  • Im very interested in including Lua into C++, what should i use? :S

  • what graphics program are you using?

  • I don't know, but you could use GIMP(if you want a free, open source one), or Photoshop.

  • Good Job

  • Ok, highdef, your a fag so go suck a dick. Anyway, that is some nice art, I hope to be that good some day to.

  • I'm blocking you after one more comment like this. My generosity knows its bounds.

  • Hahaha, wow ragequit.

  • They aren't even done. And they are "levels" not games. Learn something before you comment, you ignorant ass.

  • Bitch, atleast it doesn't suck as in high def, like you.

  • ur a fucking dick head go suck some dick and call it a day bitch

  • So stupid that we are making our own engine, kid.

  • Thats good then. Heck, you little pretty good for a programmer. You lift weights?

  • Totally.

  • Hmmm. Anybody with the slightest spark of intelligence would know that females do not have a penis. Also, if you say "yo mamma is a man", that is impossible due to the fact that mothers are parents which give birth to you, only females can do that.

  • it implies that your mom is a hermaphrodite and has both male and female genitalia (usually only one part works

  • @HighDefCam I think this is hilarious. Keep up the good work.

  • where can i find tutorials about implementing lua in c++ and programming lua?

  • What a Concoction of a Drink

  • you call draw as the first function in your game loop? whats up with that?

  • Actually, no. I just wrote it that way on the board. It's a heartbeat. Name one scenario where that really matters.

  • Omg Jools your art freakin rocks! Sorry for your hard drive loss.. but keep up the great work. That drink looks disgusting!

  • I is edjumacated!

Julien, your tile art is amazing! Your art sparked a feeling of mystique and surrealism when I saw the screen shot. I'm very impressed by the progression this game project has been making.

    Good job guys!

  • Nice to see a fellow Brit on the team! I'm confident that he'll bring some much needed class and sophistication to the project!

    ... Or maybe not.

On a more serious note: You can produce art like that at 15!? I tip my hat to you sir!

  • About the graphics, why dont you use Blender, its a free software, and you can make graphics with it, like make some objects, mutliply them, render the image and save it as a JPEG, or bmp or whatsoever image.

Its really cool what you draw, you took care of all the aspects.

Mostly,, what i got to understand from the first part is that, actually the game engine does everything, is that too less to understand from what you guys told.

  • Same as I said below :)

  • From personal taste, pre-rendered 3D to 2D sprites always look pretty awful compared to what you can do with pixel art.

  • SO like, what do you mean by pixel art,,, i fought the guy just painted those,,, with paint or something like that,, or you can use a special program for these.

Maybe,, if he just makes images,, like rendered images, and then use them,, it would look more like,, too 3D rather than 2D drawings. But youre right at this point.

  • All the art is pixel-art drawn on the computer (most likely by mouse), in the vein of old SNES JRPGs. 3D and pre-rendered 3D each belong to their own style, but I don't think it'd fit this game quite right.

  • Like as i saw yore a graphics artist too.

SO like i got the hang of what you are trying to say. Its paint, and other things, yeah, i forgot that what isee on the screen its a bunch of pixels and about the RGB..

"Thats cool, i tried to use paint and project DOgwaffe, but,, i found it hard, and i was really like a noob when drawing,,, the only thing i used to draw on paint, was an endless corridor,, that looked like that rather than be that.....

  • what if,, you would use it as a sketch, so like make a form, put a thin piece of paper, that you can see trough and then,,, use forms, it would be easier but would it.?

And maybe,, its noot good for Snes and Dreamcast, as these are more for games like donkey kong and mario and,,, like 2D games, with pixel drawed images.

  • It takes quite a bit more work to draw out all your sprites and animation, scan them in, then clean them up. It has been done, though (Curse of Monkey Island).

  • yes, thats right.

Im not a graphics artist and not even an experienced graphics guy but, i rather use blender,, since a sprite could be like 2 images, in one the foot of the player is moved in the other he is like standing, still i have to figure out many things,

and like modeling from a cube.

  • I'd guess most of that art is brushed and not pixelled :3 , though I can't exactly say that the dreamcast needs pixel-art , cause it aint exactly got much of a color-limit :B ... I wonder what color depth those are though :/

  • It's all pixeled. It's to give it a style, we want it to seem kinda like the classic snes rpgs. ;)

  • Cool :3 , what program did you use to pixel them? 8D

  • OMG...........drinking all that is suicide....lol

    your graphic artist is great

  • that artist does amazing work and hes only 15 xD

  • Nice! I'm really looking forward to seeing Jools' art ingame.

  • Original areas and environments will be our new highest priority in December.

  • Great art Jools. You're Scottish too! Excellent LOL!

  • Haha, yup :p thanks.

  • Great graphic artist.
