Many years ago before we had a TV in our house, radio was the only form of entertainment in the family home. The pureness of the music & songs came through & one could just close their eye's & believe that they had been magically transported to that place that was being sung about . Harry Belafonte was a master of taking you there. Just listening to some of his songs tonight not only reminded me of his tender voice but of his & other performers of that era. Thank you Harry for those memories.

I bought this record new when originally released. I loved Mr.Belafonte's voice. I hear now that this RCA Living Stereo pressing was one of the best recordings of their archives. Americans don't listen to stuff like this any more, nor do they record such songs. (at least for the mainstream musical ear). Old recordings either on LP's or 2-track tape are worth collecting!
