Everythign that lead up to 9-11 started back in 1953 when the CIA helped overthrow the first democratically elected government in the Middle East (Iran). Helping arm and radicalize islamists against the soviet invasion of afghanistan didn't help us out much either, nor our unwavering stance on supporting israel, regardless of how many war crimes they commit or how many UN mandates they ignore.
