Nadir says you can only argue from canonical scripture. I thought surah 9:29 was canonical scripture. How does Nadir know David's interpretation is wrong? Not from scripture. So, it's only David who is restricted to canonical scripture

that's funny... first, Nadir's argument for the 9:29 verse is that it was because it was to save Jews from Christians... Then, he admits it was to bring all people to "believing" because such offers of war/peace were also made to Jews as well ;) I don't know if he ever realized that those arguments are somewhat juxtaposed to each other
another funny one is that Nadir says there's an option for war, but there won't be if there's peace, but forgets that the peace is obtained by converting XD

Why did David Wood debate this guy???? This is the least serious debate ever, Nadir Ahmed is not to be taken seriously, why would he spend over 2 hrs in a public debate with him??? I feel sorry for David Wood, this must have been the biggest waste of his time ever.

Peace is not haram? Obviously, but the question is under what circumstances peace is ok.
The question also is: Is war haram? A clear "yes" in Christianty, a clear "no" in Islam.

I love being a Christian, we have such deep hisatorical, literary, and logical sources to drawl on for our Apologetics. Also it is so nice to see my Christian brothers and sisters using sound arguments instead of resorting to constant ad hominem attacks in debates. Of course I'm not saying we are perfect or that every Christian can debate (some are embarrassing). I love a good calm debate that sticks to the issues.

Sometimes I wonder if this on going debate with Muslims about their faulty religion is accomplishing anything. It's like telling a mouse that thinks he's a goat, that he is actually a mouse, but won't believe it no matter the amount of proof you provide.
Muslims will NEVER see the truth. NEVER read the Quran with a clear mind. Never see Muhammad as the warlord he was.

@6thMessenger I agree completely, Mr. Wood is quoting directly from the koran and Mr. Ahmed somehow still isn't 'getting' it. Nothing will convince him or others like him, that the koran commands violence toward all unbelievers until they 'turn to Islam'. The so called 'infidels' - that would be you and me, lol - need to educate ourselves about what this so-called 'peaceful' religion is really all about. Scary that the major networks like CNN don't even want to face the truth ...

@6thMessenger There has got to be 10% of the population or so David will convince. But you're right in a sense because nothing will change most Christians' minds because Christianity is true. We are in the midst of an information revolution that is exposing the lies of Islam. And the good thing is that the cultural Moslems are wide open to David's message.
