well no..i was kinda like this : The 3rd hokage gave up the title hokage and minato namikaze got hokage (that made orochimaru very angry) . Then several years later the ninetailed fox (sent by madara/tobi ) came and fought against the 4th hokage (minato) , in this battle the 4th hokage sealed it in naruto and died .

Then Konoha was kind of battlefield and there had to be a hokage to calm the people down and organise everything but that fast no one could have found and the 3rd hokage said he´d be hokage again .
