I love this band. seriously. i dont care too much for the last album because of the production, not to sound like a hater but these cats need to picka producer and stick with him. every record they have a new one. Billy Anderson was a great fit for these cats and so was jack endino. Greg Findelman fucked up their sound in my opinion. too muffled. thats just me, this album is very organic an pure and fucking heavier than walter hudson. just sayin
I've seen them 4 times live myself in the Detroit area! Now 60 I've seen it all in R&R and Metal since listening to the first back in 1955-56! I feel i can safely say I am an expert with a pro ear and this is how i would put it: Phil Spector years ago had what they called the "Wall of Sound"! HOF: TSUNAMI OF SOUND"! Spector's Wall on 'ROIDS!!!
Hey man are they worth seeing live? I saw Sleep, and they were fucking amazing, and then I found out High on Fire is playing close to where I live soon and was wondering if I shouldn't miss it.
@gex2josh Absofucking-lutely. Im jealous you've seen Sleep. oh yea the HIGH ON FIRE experience is just super amplified live. the riffs literally punch you
@gex2josh Sorry for the late reply. Yeah they played a sick gig here in ABQ w/ Kylesa, but they didn't play this song or "Fireface", mostly stuff from the new album. but those songs still kicked ass, and matt Pike is the quintessential metal front man, metal face and all.
@superduty2156 Fuckin' A dude! I encourage all you younger guys to give yourselves a fun, cool history lesson and go pick up Black Sabbath's "Vol.4" and "Master of Reality" albums. Just to hear where these newer bands come from. That's not to take away from HOF, or anyone else, 'cuz these bands are taking us into the future of metal right along with them.....God bless metal.....
@fiboR21FFAFvideos Unfortunately my friend, it's not looking that way. Too many shitty Ravecore/Scenecore bands like Attack Attack are taking over. Only we can save metal.
@cndfrank i have no idea where you got nirvana from High on Fire, Nirvana doesn't have a speck of the heaviness in any of Matt Pike's bands. Nirvana should not even be discussed in comparison with High on Fire, they are not in the same league by far.
I fuckin hate almost all newer music. This I can tolerate. In fact I adore it. Two words: holy fuck that's fuckin heavy holy fuck dude fucking metal fuckin satan fuck yeah.
10,000 years or more In jet black meditation Sonic Tempress hears no more And hands me my salvation Walking thru the piles of life Ignore all accusation Now I stand here hands are sore But thats my motivation The vision never died The earthling walked in flight 10,000 Years or more In jet black meditation Now I stand here hands are sore But thats my reputation
or when you just got home from work and you don't smoke pot and you don't really drink all that much but you're a really really big music nerd and you need something heavy as fuck to listen to that is worthy of being called music unlike most of the Heavy Metal bands out there today. just sayin.

Heaviest drum intro since When The Levee Breaks. Now that's saying something when you're comparing a cat to John Fucking Bonham.
