This Album is awsome! I love it all . When the play it live they sounds just as good or sometimes even better than the recordings..they rock and know how to make great tunes!
WOW man what a great song.....reminds me of their old songs like new years day and where the streets have no name...simply U2...and what a great way to promote their album by being on letterman all week.
Awesome. end of story. NOBODY coming in. any takers on topping this? oh, yeah - good luck. And don't forget to be genuine - get your own passion & personality into it without being a self conscious poser. not easy, eye? and the music - well that I would think not to try...check your lyrics. Now go try and do something else. U2's in town.
U2's new record is one of the best of their career. Everyone who hears, knows it and the people who don't like them are frustrated because they still keep challenging people small ideas on what rock should be. If young bands had anything to offer, they'd get heard. Rock is simple, if you're good you'll find an audience.
Another Classic has been made For all you haters out there. Please you have no idea what your talking about. For those who say Rock is a young man's game. Your diapers need changing.

Nice guys all, this band, but boring as hell and we all know it. They know it, but life is full of ruses and games and illusions and it's quite difficult to separate what you want a thing to be and what it really is. These guys like the other older acts, from Stones, Elton, Eagles, Bruce, Floyd all the above have nothing inspiring to offer. I have a reason and it's very simple, but I'll leave it at that.
Whenever a band changes direction in anyway, out come the critics! No one liked Achtung Baby when it it first came either. I think if you give it a chance, you will like it as much as they/I do.
While Bono does write amazing lyrics, and does some phenominal humanitarian work... at some point U2 just isn't what they once were. I don't care for this song at all, and Get On Your Boots is even worse.
Ok, I think this was a "warm up song" for their week long stint on Letterman. But did you check out Tuesday nite on Letterman? I thought it was fantastic. But hey maybe you didnt like that either...maybe you should jump off, and find another band if they make you unhappy. Or just put on their old CD's.
The roar that lies on the other side of silence The forest fire that is fear so deny it Walk out into the street Sing your heart out The people we meet Will not be drowned out Theres nothing you have that I need I can breathe Breathe now Yeah, yeah We are people borne of sound The songs are in our eyes Gonna wear them like a crown
Lyrics 16th of June, nine-oh-five, door bell rings Man at the door says if I want to stay alive a bit longer Theres a few things I need you to know Three Coming from a long line of Traveling sales people on my mothers side I wasnt gonna buy just anyones cockatoo So why would I invite a complete stranger into my home Would you These days are better than that These days are better than that
You're obviously not a U2 fan which is fine, but the meaning of Bono's lyrics go far deeper than what you see on the surface, using "anyone's cockatoo" is trying to play with lyrics and make a point about how ridiculous these times can be. You obviously don't get it. Just curious what music do you like?
I don't get it because I'm not as hip or smart as you. I'm sure you have no idea what Bono is trying to say with that dumbass lyric either. I'm a U2 fan. Just not afraid to say that the last 2 albums, like this one, have sucked! Pop BS with few decent, and no great songs. Music I like? Thelonius Monk, Neko Case, Afghan Whigs, TAD, Thin Lizzy, Chet Baker, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, The Band, Ben Harper, Parliment, Roots, Drive-By Truckers, Elvis Costello, Replacements, Pixies. Hip enough for you?
That's the music you like and you think U2 Sucks??? You forgot to add Barry Manilow and Bread. Just listen to your horrible music and stop making comments about a real rock and roll band.
Really? The Roots and Pixies are kin to Bread and Manilow? You sir...are a tool....BTW it's been 7 months since that horrible album hit the streets. How many copies of that pig did U2 sell by now...17....40?
To quote the legendary Bono, "Am I bugging you? Don't mean to bug ya" These comments only prove the fact that you are no U2 fan. Enjoy the Carpenters or whoever else you listen to and leave us true and loyal U2 fans alone.
Oh you aren't bugging me. You haven't posted a logical reply to anything I've written yet. Your posts are the equivalent of a child sticking his tongue out...which doesn't bug me because it's so silly. Keep spinning "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" and continue to delude yourself that U2 haven't sold out...tool.
Is that sold out too! (with an exclamanation point) or sold out tool.? Your comments don't read very well and sound very childish to me. btw if you want to talk about album sales, U2 has sold more albums during theire career than any of those slackers you mentioned combined. No replies just accept this reply as the last one or I'll send Bono to kick your ass.
First of all, get a sense of humor it will really help you through out life. Second of all, go to the ATM and buy yourself a sense of humor. The cockatoo line is funny and just meant to be surreal, that's it. Go to the ATM now.
How does pointing out inane lyrics reflect my sense of humor? You're a condescending ahole. Argue all you want, then listen to Joshua Tree. And I'm not picking on U2. REM, Neil Young, The Stones, Rush, AC/DC...horrible albums late in their careers. Rock n' Roll is a young man's game. At some point you just run out of interesting things to say. Unless you're Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash or Tom Waits. It's sad for me too, I'm just not in denial about it like you.
Not condescending my dear seatown captain. Maybe perceptive and assertive. I have listened to Joshua Tree, it's good. Not as good as Achtung Baby or Zooropa. I even listen to Pop more. REM, yes, Neil Young, unfortunately, The Stones, since Goat's Head Soup, Rush and AC/DC, not a fan. One point I will give you is that my heroes, apart from the Beatles, Bob and Tom, never dissapoint. Ever. U2 however did, with their last 2 albums, but the new one is good if you let it sit. Not denial, slight fact.
I snapped a photo of the band today arriving to the renaming of Broadway to "U2way." I was so surprised I got to see something like that and be there for it when I was totally unaware it was going on.
Rockin' stuff. I thought Bono might go into the crowd, but this was a nice twist. Plus, he's got all week to try other things. They taped the Friday show right after this (yes, that's odd...but there's probably some good reason) so he could mingle in the audience during that show.
this song is so awesome it brings back..

Walk out, into the sunburst street
Sing your heart out, sing my heart out
Ive found grace inside a sound
I found grace, its all that I found
And I can breathe
Breathe now

Every day I die again, and again Im reborn
Every day I have to find the courage
To walk out into the street
With arms out
Got a love you cant defeat
Neither down nor out
Theres nothing you have that I need
I can breathe
Breathe now
