  • Nice, but which parts are about Maglor?

  • who is the elf in 2:37

  • @TheSonsoffeanor That is Miriel, Feanor's mother who dwells in Mandos due to Feanor's birth which exhausted her. She works with Vaire the Weaver who weaves the history of Arda.

  • 0:37 pic is perfect.

  • shit hot images there man, well done, and Silmarillion is perhaps the best book written, tragedy, happyness, love, hate, grief all in there, and if you take the morals from it, it is kinda similar to the bible, Be true, be kind, dont be a cunt. Isnt that basically what the bible teaches? Same can be gleaned from Silma ^^

  • "be true,be kind, dont be a cunt" dude u got me rollin on the floor... funny shit.Ill take a bongrip to that one.Yep there isnt any other story in the damned world better than the silmarillion and all the others-like 9 of em or some shit heh.

Google is just provider of a great search engine. Give a proper credit to people whose art you have used here.

  • NERDANEL!

  • I really like your video. I am new to Youtube and amazed at the great Tolkien art available.

The Silmarillion and Lord of The Rings changed my life as well.

I discovered Tolkien after becoming a Christian several years ago and it is wonderful to see the beauty and truth of his stories displayed in so many ways. There is such a thing as universal truth, though many try to deny it.

  • I agree, off all Tolkien's works I love the Silmarillion. I find Feanor and his sons as a strange twist of a tragic hero. they despised Morgoth and still ended up doing acts that pleased him.

After all, Tolkien did write that Feanor was the greatest of the Noldor. So it is sad that, in the end, he fell to doing Morgoth's will.

Relates horribly to stories you see in the Bible.

  • I dont mean any disrespect to The Bible now, but Iäve always thought that The Silmarillion is much cooler; I've never heard of characters like Fëanor, Fingolfin, Thingol and Eöl in the Bible before.

  • You will not find those people in the Bible. I said that he got his inspiration from Biblical text. He also drew it from other texts.

Still, it relates to how Satan tempts individuals into doing evil. This in turn can cause their fall "from grace" as I have heard it said.

  • @SeramiNefera Remember, Tolkien hated allegory...

  • @TheTwilightTracker He was quotes as disliking allegory and he has despised it since finding out about it. He also did not like that people could make allegories between biblical events and his story. Yet, it doesn't change that they can be made. As for inspiration, people can draw inspiration from resources without being aware of it. My belief is that it can relate to the biblical events. Yet, you pose a good point.

  • Beautifully done, The Silmarillion changed my view on life.

  • Thank you. I worked hard on this slide show. I have never done one before. I liked how it turned out.
