  • MARVEL AND DC 4 LIFE

  • Matt - funny how all the great Superman stories seem to be out of continuity, isn't it? Like you, I'm a Marvel zombie at heart, but I'd add Alan Moore's "For The Man Who Has Everything" to the list of classic Supes stories. And for me, the definitive DC stories aren't even in the comics - the Batman and Justice League animated series distill everything good about DC into great looking, well acted packages.

  • Great work guys - can't wait to see what the rest of the series is going to tackle.

Adam - you should check out Grant Morrison's run on X-Men from around 2000 - he really shook up how the series worked and Whedon's run follows up on a lot of the changes he made (like Beast's new look and Emma Frost joining the team). Also, track down the trade for S.W.O.R.D. - Beast and Agent Brand have wacky space adventures with Lockheed in tow!

  • I remember someone saying to me 'DC writes about super heroes, Marvel about people with super powers'. I haven't read All Star Superman (yet, I will steal my friend's copies) but your review has "marvel-ised" it for me. Made Superman someone human who happens to have super powers.

  • Good work Fellas! Cracked me up with the laughing at the start, and Matt's brush with greatness at Kapow. You've also chosen two fantastic books to start with. AS Supes is one of the greatest, if not the greatest modern superhero comics. Astonishing X was Joss picking up a franchise that was a bit jaded and shaking it back to it's superheroic and fantastical roots. Adam if you want to explore more X-Men then you could do a lot lot worse than Grant Morrison's 'New-X-Men' run. (a lot lot worse!)

  • Ah, forgot, bring red sun or civil war too. Mark should be about. xxx

  • AWESOME. Matt bring your copies of Supes to Glasgow, I'll get vinnie (FQ) and jamie to sign em for you. We'll all be chillin in the guest balcony. Also, hell YAS, PROPS TO THE JOSS GOD. Love the bit with kitty and the maggot. Read the serenity stuff yet? If not, do the shepheard's tale, written by Jed, well worth it. ^.^

  • You guys made me want to read both comics...good work!
