great tone!! not only that, but you make the 70's strat shine! all theo ther video's are boring! seriously! ;P and i've been debating between the 70's reissue or the Eric Clapton signature guitar with noiseless pickups. i'm asking for advice! but give me professional advice so i could actually pick haha.. i've been trying to see which guitar is better for both.. slow blues like EC and noisy agressive blues like JH.. if i'm looking for that.. what do you recommend? EC signature? or 70's reissue?
@JimmyKhayata Thanks for the comment. In my experience, it's the amp and the way you use your fingers which makes the biggest difference to the sound - it's much less about the guitar than many players realise. I don't have any direct experience of either the EC signature or the 70's reissue models. This original
70's strat is the only strat I've ever played. Does the EC signature have a flatter 70's style neck?
(continued - part 2) The wider, flatter neck of the 70's strats makes for easier soloing, and you can bend notes further on a flatter neck without the note choking off due to the curvature of the fingerboard. Sorry this probably isn't much help! Good luck finding the right guitar. It took me 37 years to find mine!
Cheers. I've been playing 45 years now. My fingers are no better than when I was 18 - but I like to think my ears are a lot keener! For me, tone is more important than notes - so thanks!
Thanks. The amp is an Engl Screamer 50 watt valve 1 x 12" combo with an Engl 1 x 12" vintage extension cabinet. Engl is a German make. Its a fantastic amp clean, dirty and everything in between. I'm using no effects, just a little of the inbuilt spring reverb. The comment below relates to the Mesa Boogie Mk3 which I need to sell.
Excellent! Oh, and don't sell that amp... You are a rock star now with it... :) Maybe you haven't sold your amp yet, because people aren't checking that out, they are watching the video for your playing ahah :) cheers.
Wow!!!

Thanks. I don't know what "series" it is. It's a USA model from about 1975. Nice wide natural maple neck. My dream guitar....
