Best band ever. I don't quite understand how one band could put out so many hits.. They were on fire for years and are just as good to see nowadays, bless em.
saw then supported by subway sect at Newcastle city hall in 78 age 13 and then a year later with Joy division supporting... wish i had a time machine handy...
Lots of good bands around today but, since I was 15 the Buzzcocks will always hold a place in my heart. The most underrated punk band and manchester band ever. Saw them in the Marquee in London. brilliant.
yeh yur right there are a few great girl punk bands the slits there good suzie and the banshees. if u meant that as an offence then it was a shit one we punks look down on you you idiot
Steve Diggle using a Johnny Thunders' gibson les paul jr double cutaway guitar and Garvey a MusicMan Stingray bass? Probably, i prefer Steve Garvey than Flea.

i speak from the point of view that the buzzcocks wrote amazing pop songs: their lyrics really sucked haha. i hold the buzzcocks, the la's, the stone roses and the cure in the same esteem
the best the fuckin best and all the 44 year +s will agree who where around will agree that they where every bit as good as any of these so called to artists of today
actually the buzzcocks were influenced more by the sex pistols also from the U.K After seeing a sex pistols concert in the early 70s pete and steve started the band
not forgetting their amazing song structures, better guitar tones, a more intricate a drummer, guitar "solos", a completely original vocal style, and lyrics that tear apart relationships to their bare basics in an enlightening fashion.

Too true, I'm 45 and saw the Buzzcocks at Leicester De Montfort Hall in 1978 for £ 1.20 . Amazing gig and not the last time I saw them.

GREAT video of a fantastic band! Not my fave tunes by them...but good tunage nonetheless.
Thanks for posting.

Good tunes are no bad thing , and that you must have a broad musicology to keep some on tap shows their scarcity .

I just read about a short film titled "love you more" about a boy who likes a girl who is really into the buzzcocks. It sounds good enough.

Too bad they don't sound much like the Sex Pistols and more like British invasion rock bands.
roothands 3 years ago
No one cares who's influenced them. The fact that they are better than both ramones and sex pistols is what matters
