@BGR847 made my first game last year against south florida even though we lost it was still amazing. The first time you hear the band in the tunnel ... amazing
I think Everett Golson will start next year. I think he has the potential to do serious damage in a Brian Kelly offense. I like Tommy Rees, but he's not elite.
This is nonsense. I have high hopes for Golson but he hasn't played a down. Rees is a sophomore who's started 6 games and is 5-1. If he cuts down on the turnovers (very likely) he can certainly put up elite numbers, and he's already putting up elite W-L numbers.
These are the kind of athletes and this is the kind of mentality Kelly is bringing in. With so many players still with the stench of the Weis era, there will be games like USF and Michigan. But last year's recruits and this year's play differently than most of the upperclassmen. The upperclassmen don't know how to win. The young guys have the character and mentality of Kelly and his coaches. The more classes that Kelly brings in, the more his players play, the better things will get.
Stench of Weis recruits? Excuse me, NDs best linebacker and a solid linebacker in Calabrese were Weis recruits. ND starting TE and best wideout were all "stench" of Weis recruits.. I think you should think about what you say before you say it..
I always do. I will be very happy, and I think Irish fans will be very happy, when all of the players who played a couple of years or more for Charlie Weis are all gone. Even the good ones. There are a ton of fifth-year eligibles next year from the #1 rated 2008 class. Yet look how Kelly is filling up his upcoming recruiting class with numbers. He won't bring back more than a handful of those 5th year guys. Why not? He wants to change the culture, and the sooner the better.
He's recruiting on what he needs.. Last year defensive ends was a needed position, so he recruited hard on that. This year he needs defensive backs, thus, he's recruiting on that. And next year I bet he looks to bring in offensive lineman and linbackers..
