I can't believe some of the criticism about these guys making an honest profit. Large Supermarket chains are much worse, dictating prices paid to producers and making billions in profit from YOU the consumer. It's called capitalism people, it's not perfect but it works better than the alternative. I like Mike and Frank, good honest people in my opinion.

i dont care for resellers some are honest but most arent. when they buy they pay as little as they can get away with.they depend upon the sellers ignorance of the item. if the seller wants $10 they just pay them $10 even if they know the item is worth a $1000!!! of course when they sell it its worth its weight in gold! pawn shops fall into this category too.but at least pawn stars is upfront in them ripping you off.

These guys put in their time driving all over, paying for gas, hotels, wear and tear on the vehicle, warehouse, employee, advertising etc. Some old guy has some stuff sitting in his barn that would probably sit there til he dies. They buy it at a price they feel is fair but leaves them room to make money. But not always. They're not experts on everything and some time they get burned like Frank did on an old car. The sellers don't have to sell and often don't. No exploitation.

seen a commercial a few days ago for amer. pickers where they show some chest from Italy thats been sitting in a basement for years + the owner claims to have never opened it and sells it to the american pickers guys without opening it

give me a fucking break, why on earth would you never open it and why wouldnt you open it BEFORE selling it to someone, could be jewellery or cash inside

American Pickers is a great show. And Pawn Stars. Although Chumley better be glad he's friends with Big Hoss. Otherwise he would be homeless. He is as dumb as a bag of hammers. And a real lazy ass. And Chumley knows it too. Also, the last show of American Pickers I saw, the guys stayed in the barn looking for things too long, and pissed off the old man, who wouldn't let them buy anything. Not good guys. A very good show. I watch all the time.
