  • Awesome trap. Like.

  • best snare video i have ever seen. great job

  • You didn't do the lashings right.

  • 'Fur catchin' them niggurs' lol

  • that spring snare was a lot more easy to understand than some

  • Cool!

  • Awesome dude!

  • large scale human version

  • This is the best snare I have seen! I had a huge badger problem and I caught them all thanks to the video.. Thank you a bunch!!

  • That is alot of tension for the animal to pull down to set the trap off. Check out Dave Canterbury's variation at wildernessoutfitters. Also, I've come up with a better way to make a fork stick, check out my toggle snare video as well. Glad to find another brother in the outdoors, take care.

  • @OutdoorPatriot Yes I agree. I am well knowledgeable about Dave's version. I am Dave's first student to ever pass Phase 1 of the Pathfinder School This version of the Spring Snare was made by the Lead Instructor Steve Davis. This was made over a year ago when we first started working on different spring snare traps etc. Thank you again brother!

  • Great video helped me refresh on making this trap, keep up the great work

  • Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly explain how to build a spring snare. I'm ready to go out and do some experimentation now.

  • good job nice vid thank you

  • nice vid and the trap works

  • weres the triger stick on the back he didnt show that part how do u set it

  • dude you move the camera around like Blair witch!.....and you dont show how to load the trigger stick to the stick in the back.....can't even see the stick in the back

  • Thank you quality video!

  • put string bigger n it will do a backflip

  • i like snare the most

  • u did a good job on showing how to do it but the odds of the animal putting weight on hthe trigger stick is 1 out of 10 good shirt by the way

  • @sportskid1414 The animal wouldnt exactly have to put its legs up on the trigger. A strong enough pull or push could knock the smaller stick away from the trigger and activate the trap

  • thank you soo much for this great vid. definately one of the best snare vids on youtube

  • Why is it illegal in some states to put snares out? Please answer

  • Thanks for the video. I did some experamenting and if you use a "Y" branch, it is easier to make. I like the "Y" branch better because you don't have to lash the sticks together. Once again thanks for the video.

  • Great job and thanks man . Good effort

  • Everyone should know how to do this, never know when your gonna come up short, good vid.

  • i like this guy he sounds like forest gump ride on brother

  • haha i did this in my front yard and caught a baby possum

  • could u use yarn possiblie?

  • thanks dude, and love you accent :D

  • i made one and came back the next day and the snares was set off but nothing was in it. i set it again and tried it with a stick like you did and the noose didn't close. can someone please help.

P.S. yes i know how to tie a noose and many other slip knots and none of them work.

  • very nice

  • did u have a dip in because i did

  • this may be hard to believe but i did the same thing just bigger (i was trying to get rid of some wild dogs aaround my neighbor hood and trapped a deer (i used that plasticy rope stuff ) it was so funny because i saw iit happen

  • this has to be the most simple snare I have seen. Thanks for showing us. i am going to practice this one when the snow goes away in a few months. 5/5

  • My pleasure.. Thank you!

  • One of the better videos on making snares on youtube. Thanks for this, the others showed what to use to make them, but not how to set them up.

  • Thank you!

  • Thats awsome great vids

  • awesome vid do u think it would work on pheasant or is it a few different types of game thanks for the vid do you know how to make the spring spear trap on rambo first blood if yes have you got a vid

  • So how did you cook that stick and finger? Were they good? Haha

  • theoutdoorwarrior aint funny what so ever people like to learn not to have clowns around learn to be kind somewhere or take your jokes somewhere else cause this man has just taught me how to make a perfect snare

  • Man, calm down. I know he made a very good snare. He helped me a lot too. I meant nothing serious by my comment, and I'm sure he knows that. I think you're the only one offended by what I wrote. In which case, go get a life. It's not like we're talking about someone's grandmother dying.

  • Awesome vid.

    Love the Shirt!!

  • Thank you! One of my favorite shirts for sure

  • G'day. This is one of the best trapping videos I've seen, very good instructions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that the spring is a sappling. Great video, 5 stars, favorited and subscribed. Thanks friend

  • You are absolutely correct it is a small sapling. Thank you for the kind comments and glad you enjoyed the vid!

  • would it be possible to put 2 noose's? or 3? like fishing with a treble hook

  • Oh yea you could put as many as you want on that bait stick.

  • Well done!

  • Thank yoU!

  • arnold used this type of snare to catch the predator

  • Good Job..

  • Thank you!

  • Im confused... perhaps a close up would've been better?

  • i showed close up video of the snare and every stage of setting it and building it. What can I help you with to better understand it?

  • Absolutely! You did an awesome job...

Its just on the trigger stick that Im confused about. I recognize the two crisscrossed sticks, the bait stick, but Im not too sure where you place the trigger stick-

    I'll watch it again ;-)

Kudos- Great video- keep em coming.

  • The trigger stick was just standing up at the very tail end of the bait stick. It just supports the tension of the bait stick once it is in place. When something touches the bait stick, the trigger stick just falls out of the way and allows the tree to fly up.

  • Nice job man. It makes my day to see someone using something I taught. Keep it up!

  • Thank you buddy!

  • good job

  • Good job.

  • easy, and effective

  • Nice , simple and effective design.

  • Nice work!
