its nice to hear his testimony about the basic beliefs of the restored gospel, the reality of god and the atonement of Christ. But the best part about it all is that i can know all of those things that he knows without having to listen to him and just believe on his words. Im so greatful to God for giving me the opportunity of knowing the truth of all things through the Holy Ghost. I know what he says to be true, not because he says it is but because i know of myself through prayer and study.
Every religion claims to the ultimate truth. Mormonism is just another of the many spin-offs of Christianity. It's one of many competing superstitions.
Last winter, she placed the produce and hold-over seeds in the hole and erected a ger (yurt) over it. This served as a root cellar and kept her produce and seeds from freezing. In addition to a garden of vegetables, Javzandulam planted beautiful flowers to adorn her home. Her dedication to her garden sets a great example for her friends of the benefits of home gardening.
"Five families were living in a church for a few days," she said. "I was in the kitchen doing stuff for them, and in walked this man with all of our quilts (that had been donated to the church) for these families."
Outside of the senior center, Koeven stays busy tending to her garden and longtime Center Street home and volunteering in the Logan LDS Temple's baptistry and cafeteria twice a week.
As group members themselves reached retirement, several have served second missions. Their reports at subsequent reunions have been sources of interest and inspiration.
The missionaries were also interested in the experiences related by E. Marshall McCoy, who served as mission president in the Caribbean and as temple president in Oakland.
Speaking to a large congregation in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, President Eyring's address was also broadcast via satellite to other congregations around the world in what has become a CES annual event: "An Evening With a General Authority." President Eyring was accompanied by his wife, Sister Kathleen Eyring.
Among others in attendance were Elder Paul V. Johnson of the Seventy and Church commissioner of education; Elder Cecil O. Samuelson Jr. of the Seventy and president of BYU; as well as Sister Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president; and Sister Elaine S. Dalton, Young Women general president, both of whom serve on the Church Board of Education.
"It seems the whole purpose of gospel instruction is to help us make clear and relate to our own lives what God has said to us right there in the scriptures. And that's why it's so great to have these different participants share their insights, because they've had different life experiences, and it makes it very rich and inspiring to listen to."
"I don't think any teacher should," he said. "If we're going to teach by the Spirit, then we have to go with what the Spirit helps us decide in the moment, and we don't overly structure the lesson."
That includes leaving time and opportunity for class members to testify, largely through the spontaneous comments and insights they share during the lesson, he said.
Consider, in particular, the development of the relationships between Jacob and Esau, and Joseph and Judah (and the rest of Josephs brothers). Initially there is conflict between these brothers, but later there is reconciliation (Jacob and Esau reconcile in Gen 32, and Joseph and Judah reconcile in Gen 44-45).
Then in 2007 he was unexpectedly summoned back to active military duty as a helicopter pilot. He learned he would be deployed to Iraq. His first impulse was to fight the orders. But after much prayer, his wife, Carmen, told him that perhaps the abrupt changes happening in his life were meant to be.
Captain Tina Breck of the Kandahar Military Branch echoed President Wikle's sentiments. "Being here in Afghanistan far away from family and friends can be very difficult and lonely at times," she said. "When talking to family it is hard to share exact feelings and experiences that we encounter every day. As I watched the district conference, I felt a peace come over me that the leaders at home do have an idea of what is going on and the conditions that we are enduring."
With the aid of technology, more than 500 members of the Kabul Afghanistan Military District were able to receive instruction from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and other church leaders in a district conference, despite the restrictions of war.
"The value of the district conference to these isolated members is hard to adequately express," President Wikle said. "We are so grateful for the efforts that have been extended to support these members of the Church."
The Kabul portion of the conference was recorded at Camp Eggers with the participation of the district president, Eugene Wikle, president of the Kabul Afghanistan Military District, and Carol Thompson, the district Relief Society president.
In Salt Lake City portion, Elder Holland participated with Elders Dennis B. Neuenschwander and Bruce D. Porter of the Seventy, as well as Sister Julie B Beck, Relief Society general president. That part of the conference was recorded with a congregation of members of the Utah Army National Guard who either recently served or will soon serve in Afghanistan.
Recordings of the district conference were burned onto DVDs and sent to hundreds of Latter-day saints in the five organized branches and numerous forward operating bases across Afghanistan so that all could receive counsel.
With an assist from technology, the more than 500 members of the Kabul Afghanistan Military District recently enjoyed the blessing of participating in a district conference with Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve, other General Authorities and a general auxiliary leader of the Church.
Church members in Afghanistan are not able to gather together in one location for a district conference. Using technology developed for stake conference broadcasts, General Authorities and district leaders organized and recorded a district conference in two parts — one taking place in Salt Lake City, and the other emanating from the Afghan capital, Kabul.
That recording was subsequently burned onto DVDs and sent to hundreds of Latter-day Saints in the five organized branches and numerous forward operating bases across Afghanistan so that all could "attend" the district conference.
Unless you understand or are prepared to understand each of us is entitled to answers to questions that may elude us because we can't find them only on the basis of revelation. did not God create us in his image you may want to discourage with intent but you cannot break a mans testimony of the truth because Christ is Truth. If you doubt look to the most high God of Israel for the answers for he can answer your questions, he will reveal by the power of the Holy Ghost read James 1:5 and John 14:26
God is not a man. Mortal man has never seen the face of God. We cannot pay for our salvation.
Mormons are not the chosen Jewish people enslaved by a Pharoh led out of Missouri and Illinois. They were chased out because of the adultery and theft by Joseph and the brethren.
The phrase, line upon line precept upon precept from the foundation of the earth comes from Masonry. Silly Mcdonkey.
So, with him stating what he believes makes him an asshole or a pompous ass? Is there anything he says that gives an air that he or we are better than anyone else. If you watch the first half you will see what he is trying to say, and that my friend is simple. He is answering critics that think we have some strange secret doctrine. That's all. Nothing else. A basic outline of beliefs of the LDS church. He is speaking for the benefit for you and those that get easily misguided by ignorance.

I think just the way McConkie talks makes him an asshole. Try it in your own life & see what happens. Try it in your next job interview & see how it turns out. The Guy really is a miracle, that he acted this way, made it work& had anybody take him seriously at all, but thats MORmONS for you. Yes MORmONISM IS FULL OF strange beliefs. I noted that Bruce did not talk about Joseph Smith's blood lust, his intention to cut the sacred temple marks right into members flesh making them
Making the temple marks permanent as scars in the member skin. Many early initiates had that done with the knee mark. Mormon disrespect Christians for revering the cross saying it conjures up images that are too bloody& gory, but then go in their temple&threaten to start slitting throats & worship the nail holes in Jesus. VERY PHONY & HYPOCRITICAL as well as weird! &here he is talking about the perfect church.
speaking for my benefit???, thats a MORmON Twist. One thing I do not need is any more MORmON style *benefit* in my life. I dont need any more threats to have my throat slit in the name of Jesus. I dont need my bank account cleaned out any more for people who knock down perfectly good malls, just to build a new one & tell me lies. all McConkies words are the same, an ongoing drone about how important he is& how entitled he is because of MORmON BS, all because MORmONS Say so. PURE LDS BS!
Where do you come up with this stuff? Threats? What threats? Bank account cleansed? Shopping malls? What are you talking about? I mean for real, I don't see the relation. And how is McConkie stating that he's important? He states notihing about himself. I mean for real. Not what Mormons say, it's what you're saying. I could see a logical argument if you stuck to facts, but you aren't. You're shooting in the dark and rambling and it doesn't make any sense.
"shoooting in the dark and rambling", add in the name of God & there is a very apt description of McConkie. Where do I come up with this stuff? Better be careful what you ask! I get it out of the very best anti Mormon information there is - LDS actions & accounts. Ever Heard of Cross Roads Mall? Where is it now?
Again, like so many other people. You keep talking and yet produce no facts to back u your claims. I asked where you got this stuff. And what do you do? You avoid answering the question and ask another question. If I didn't want an answer then I'd never asked you a question in the first place. Anti-Mormon, is that some radical hate group that you founded or is that a group of people that are pissed at the world and look for something to discredit or demean. Did I want an answer to that question?
And let the whining hatreds continue. Was not Jesus Christ hated & killed by His own for telling the Truth? I bet you didn't know that, did ya? Just consider yourself warned & that's all we can do for you. Our purpose is to let all to hear, speak & know about The Church of Jesus Christ, and draw your own decisions. God bless!
