Why are you taking tension? There is no shortage of place but finding faults in other and make new house will surely us to think. Why are we not living with our grandpa or grandmother. What is the need of a small family house. It is narrow think and it will surely need 800 billion house if same case happing.
the obvious limiting factor is water. it is the basis of all life, making housing billions in arid africa impossible. this is not to mention completely ignoring agriculture, jobs, contruction costs, willingness of billions of people to relocate to the desert, etc.
There is plenty of land food, just that some nations over consume, over pollute and then turn around and suggest that the poorer goups should reduce their population. If trade was fair, then poorer nations would be able to farm and feed themselves and the rest of the world. If you're population control then start with your family before dictating who should be born and not.Over population is a challenge but greed is the real monster.
Given that I only watched this clip and not his whole speech, maybe this is explained elsewhere, but how do we _feed_ these billions of people? He mentions that large areas of Africa aren't suitable for agriculture, but would be fine for building high-density housing. We're already having problems supplying energy to haul food from the points of production to the points of consumption. What happens when you have to do this for billions of people living in the middle of nowhere?
I am the real Melchizedek. I am #3 of the Order. Peter the Apostle would be #2. The Sanhedrin would have him crucified and form the Jesuit Order. They would then do the same thing after Mohammad dies by infiltrating the Four Caliphs whom are a true extension to the 12 Apostles.

This is a 5 minute clip of a 55 minute talk and it seems from some of the comments, people only watched the first couple of minutes of this clip. Unless you see the whole talk, you really cannot speak intelligently about it as evidenced by some of these comments
I think they should wait for their internal systems to rule that way. Why should we dictate what is the best way to live. They would use the resources we give them to possibly grow nukes and hate us. Just like Iran, Russia, and North Korea, among others.
Watch more carefully. The video is proposing at throwing money at a problem that exists not because of the lack of money. There is a corrupt government in place, and it's not America's responsibility to fix it.
He's talking about FORCING poor people to live in massive housing projects. The only way for his plans to work is for the government to require them to be done. People will not choose this kind of thing voluntarily.
Cabrini Green worked "wonderfully" in Chicago.
And freedom works better than government force.
100 Hong Kong Ghettos? VERY bad idea.
This guy needs to read F.A. Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom."
Here's why not: when there is one world government, it has a monopoly that you can never escape from, because there is no where else to move to.
It may start out benign, but the worst kind of people will be attracted to the power, and the WU will be corrupt. People who do not understand will vote it more power. The end of this road is a global dictatorship.
Let's keep competing nations. Then, if a nation abuses it's citizens, they can at least try to escape to a free country.
it is actually possible for the earth to house 50 billion people. all that is required is proper distribution of food and resources. and if you're told otherwise then you have been already brainwashed by the government in believing that, because it is easier to control 50 million people than it is 50 billion people, and that's all they care about.
Your talkin shite. Where would the oil, food and all the other resources we need come from. This liberal ideology that people can shag and shag and produce unwanted children has led us to swarms off impoverished ill educated pockets of humanity. Population reduction thew education is the only answer.
The figures that I was able to find about global food calorie production indicates that if all the food was evenly distributed that every person could have 2519 calories/day (pop 6.7 billion). If we assume a 2000 cal/day requirement are current production would feed 8.4 billion and to reach 50 billion we would have to increase production 6 times.
Of course such gains maybe possible assuming improvements to the system.
Just because it's possible (I would say with immense difficulties) doesn't mean it is desirable. What's the point of being 50billion? Wouldn't it end up feeling claustrofobic living in a world where everything has the stamp of human activity on it. Would a world of 50billion 'out of control' people be all that fun.. really?
Do people have a right to a home, or does land belong only to the rich? Is it welfare to give a man a place to lay his head? There is enough food to feed everyone. It's just that some people refuse to share. Any ideas?
But to suppose that food is a right, we must ask whom will it come from? This would violate the right to property and liberty that are more fundamental.
Free nations produce more wealth for their poor than do the centrally planned. If you care about the poor, you want markets.
Some will refuse to share, but those who are willing share more if they are richer.
Food, where is the room for farms to feed people in the cities????
US being a world leader for 10,000 years, dude you are living on another planet if you cant see US is already sliding just after 50 years on dominance

What a beautiful idea!
Too bad the only way to implement it in a timely manner is to have a benevolent dictator who has to illiminate all disentors.

Population-control advocates are only popular because society does not want to take responsibility for meeting the needs of its newest citizens.

There is no right to food or shelter.
Basic rights are to life, liberty and property.
These come from our ownership of our own lives.
But to suppose that food is a right, we must ask whom will it come from? This would violate the right to property and liberty that are more fundamental.
Free nations produce more wealth for their poor than do the centrally planned. If you care about the poor, you want markets.
