would you suggest this for djing with laptops n controllers? n plus i have a friend who is setting up a studio in her house, shud she buy this as well as me?
Just bought mine!!! I was so excited. Except it will not charge. I haven't even used it. Called customer support, but was put on hold forever (were they responding to block rocker questions) emailed customer support, but they may have already gone home. :( Something tells me.....this isn't as great as I thought.
I bought this item recently...and it rocks! I bought it for my garage/shop, replacing my outdated "boombox". I bought a $39 external soundcard and hooked up an old laptop computer. Now I can use it for CD's, DVD's, Pandora, Slacker and Xfinity. The sound I get, using it in conjunction with the sound card, is freaking amazing!

@12bwatching heyyy well can anyone help me i just got the block rocker yesterday and idk how to charge it its frustrating me so much cuz i need to use it in 2 days. idk if its chargeing cuz when i put the power cable in to charge it the charge light pops up for about 10 seconds then turns off dose that mean its chargeing? but the light just turns off? and i also tryed turning the blockrocker on to charge it and the lights 123 light up and the red low light is off but how do i kno if its charged
I'm looking for a good speaker to use in our lockrroom pre-game. From what I can understand it's good for rock music and everything but what about a bit more bass required music such as dubstep/hardstyle etc? I need something with a nice, heavy OOMF to it if you know what I mean?
Just to let all of you know, I use two of these badboys, and when you hook them up to a secondary source for djing, eg laptop & decks, the volume is fucking insane and even when really loud the clarity isnt bad either, sub is really nice and heavy, perfect for me!
@pipesmokerable Oh yeah - This thing is perfect for going outside with. It is more powerful, has wheels, IPOD hookup, 12 hours battery life, and comes with the microphone and stuff for the kids to play around with, or for you to make announcements for weddings and/or parties. We take it everywhere we go now, haha!
Hi Ryan. Just wanted to give an update: bought one about a month ago and have used it for about 5 hours at a time, three times a week. The battery life blew me away: *easily* 12 hours aggregate. The sound clarity is good on the line inputs, acceptable on the RCA input - lossy by nature. Pushed my output aggregate sound (XLR wireless mic, XLR Vestax VCM-100, line input mic, and line input sampler) thru' a Soundcraft passive mixer, and hooked up a 50' 1/4inch-to1/4inch cable: absolutely no issues.
The only downside to this is the battery doesn't last forever. Good thing there is an ebay seller selling replacement batteries complete with instructions for a good price.
Have you noticed any output power variance/drop if you have all three inputs used? For example, as a dance instructor, I can see plugging in three wireless mic systems: 2 for teacher & assistant, and the other mobile transmitter handles my iPod on a hip-pack (no running to the iPod for pause!).
Could you let us know what the variances might be, or any distortions?
@sixhats During the 4th of July party, we had 2 microphones going with the ipod. No volume variance at all. We had it plugged in to the wall at the time... But my daughter is always cranking it up and playing with it on it's battery too.
one question i do have is how is the low end on this thing? i know that alot of speakers/amps/etc will get distorted and messy with really bassy sounds on higher volumes. is that a problem here? or would one be able to crank it up to full on a really bassy song and still get clarity
@chaveznieves My wife plays around with her R&B a bit, and i've heard rap songs on it. You really dont have to worry about it distorting... I've been selling this on my real music site for some time - never had a complaint.
i actually expected the price to be much higher on this, thus being a ripoff. but its actually very cheap for its specs and functionality. this looks like a great gadget for a casual or beginner musician. although i would urge people not to think of it as an amp replacement.
one criticism i have is the inability to fine tune the low/med/hi, but overall this seems like a great product for the price. you've got a great product here and i'm sure it'll sell well
Nicely advertised, and seems like an awesome product, the idea of being able to play guitar + have the music coming out the same amp is great, saves alot of hassle
@JonoSpace you can do that one any amp with a aux line in that isn't component. just get a mini-jack to mini (or quarter inch) jack lead and plug it in. Remember the signal will get turned from stereo to mono, unless you've set up more than one amp. :)
see ryan you almost had me cause I need a new amp for my guitar but the problem I have with it is that theres no distortian and I have an ipod touch and those ipod docks dont work with the ipod touch second gen
I WOULD buy this if it had a distortion or overdrive switch. For $150, it isn't bad. And coming with mic? I would buy it since I'm getting into singing.
Haha right around the time the new Rock Band Squier Stratocaster is coming out too (b^.^)b I'm gonna need an amp if I want to learn real guitar, so this should be perfect. But will it work with an iPod Touch/iPhone? As I would LOVE to use this with that too.
@Izemann92 lol, this is meant to plug your guitar into, or drums - but the big thing is that it is PORTABLE. Take it on a camping trip, take it out in the back yard... Going to a friend's house who doesnt have much of a sound system? Just put it in the car and go... Watch the WHOLE video, and you will get the idea :)

This block rocker only has 24 watts of sound at the peak level??
(this is from their website specs - ionaudio dot com)
I have a cheap Sony stereo with over 500 watts of sound, it knocks it out!
I think the block rocker is a great idea, but WHEREs the power???
