I used to live on the first floor at number 28 Ardenlea street, between 1972/74. I loved living there, most of my childhood memories are from the two years we lived in Ardenlea St. I remember an old man who lived on the corner who had about 40 dogs and I loved the noise that travelled from Parkhead on match days.... I hope things have worked out ok for you and your son Margaret.
Disgusting! As usual the Council care more about the image of the city to the outside world and don't give a crap for the people who have to live there!
I spent twenty years living across from Margaret in 40 Millerfield; she's a good person, like many of the people who lived there. There's been nothing there since GEAR started hacking in the 70's - how many pubs were in Springfield Rd and Dalmarnock Rd? Ye canny hiv a Community wi nae people. Margaret, do the front right up - jist your wee bit - fill it tae the gunnels wi flowers and gnomes - ahm sure many folk wid be willing to help - that may help get it RIGHT UP THEM.
look at the state of those houses in dalmarnock, don't blame the council,it's the scum who live there that destroy the very houses they live in,i was a boy in the early 70s in the calton and every close was clean as a whistle, people used to have pride in their abodes, but not anymore, you build these people new houses and 5 years down the line they will be shit holes.
