In music, time signatures are read as number of beats in the measure/value of said beats. For example, 3/4 = three quarter notes per bar. 7/8 = seven / eighth notes per bar. 9/8 = nine eighth notes per bar. It's not only possible, it also sounds wonderful.

Also, in fractions, when the numerator is larger than the denominator, that doesn't defy the laws of physics. It just means you've exceeded 1.

You clearly don't know anything about music, or math. -_____-

I dout any of you guys like metalcore, but if you like odd time signatures check out matt greiner. He's the drummer of August Burns Red. They use ALOT of double bass and 7/8 beats. Its pretty sweet.
