Awww I just love Kanicki :) I have been watching your videos for like the past week and he is like the best talker I have seen so far. I am going to get one of these birds as soon as I can affored one. Was Kanicki very expenisve? I heard they can be. But I want one so bad they are so funny and sweet :). I use to have a bird as a child growing up but the cat got into his cage and ate him it was a horrible experiance.

When we got KaNicki the breeder told us it would be easier for him to say a " K " name so my daughter came up with this from Grease and it fit him perfectly .. In his videos I also call him KaNickster and Nicki pie pie 2 He even calls himself these knicknames LOL

@AceHawkR I will try on Anthony ! He normally onlys says what he wants and its funny the things he chooses . Some fo the tricks I have taught him were def treat induced I won't fib but alot of things he just repeats cause of an " instance " that he experienced . Although they say at full maturity he will have the intelligence of a 3 year old and I am seeing this more each day with how he responds and talks to me ! : )

Some parrots show signs of intelligence. Yet, it is important to understand that these mimicking birds do not really understand what they are saying. Parrots just repeat sounds that they have been taught. Talking to a parrot is basically like talking to a tape player or a Furby doll. (And even then, you never know if a parrot will talk back.) The fact is, even though some birds can be "trained" to do certain things, they cannot reason or have real, human-like conversations.
Thank You for the comment although I will have to disagree I truly believe parrots have the " emotional equivalent of a two year old human, with the intelligence of a five year old " << a quote from many readings . I challenge you to read Alex and Me by Dr Irene Pepperberg you may change your opinion on their intelligence . KaNicki is a young bird not 3 yet and is so smart and says things/laughs etc with no apparent prompt so I know as he gets older he will show much conversations skills : )
