  • Now that is the way to show respect and community spirit and the fact that it's basically fully functional sweetens the deal

  • Looks like NFPA 1500 requires all out dated apperatis to be retro fitted to fight wildland fires.

  • why take the fire down when u can spectacularly run over it! :D

  • Responding to a fire call?

If not, cite the idiots for red light violations and reckless driving.

  • @robertgift waaaah waaah waaaaaah!!! shut up big baby.

  • @sabertoothtyler No toothless. This ain't no POS Powercall siren.

Can't drive red lights and siren on public streets without a parade permit in a parade.

May use this video as evidence for a conviction.

  • @robertgift boohoo mama's boy. obviously, no one can be sure of what's going on...but go ahead and try to use this 'evidence' to 'convict' them. we'll see how that might affect your chances of them responding swiftly to your burning house.

  • @robertgift I see you're from PA. Are you familiar with VA law, or the local PD's involvement with the movement of this rig from it's storage area on Birdneck Road to whichever venue it's being displayed at?

  • @TravelinMan24 Illegal, inappropriate and unprofessional to disrupt traffic and take right-of way from traffic if not an emergency. You would NEVER find anyone on our fire departments thus operating lights and siren unless in a parade.

If this was not a response to an emergency, and I were one of those drivers, I would sign a complaint and use this in court. I would also cease yielding right of way to this department's vehicles because they use emergency equipment when no emergency.

  • @robertgift Damn, why the hostility? They're driving it about 3 miles down the road. My god, lighten up.

  • @TravelinMan24 You don'take right of way from others. You don't disruptraffic flow - which wastes everyone's fuel and generates more pollution. You don't make needless noise pollution.

What if someone rear-ends another stopping for their green signal?

Driving an emergency vehicle, I have caused two such mishaps when the first vehicle slowed and stopped and the one behind did not.ice quickly enough.

Parade is one thing. Th.is traffic. Why expose them to risk of mishaps?

  • does it have rear wheel steer?

  • YEAHBROTHER

  • i like that

  • outdoing the smaller truck ftw

  • i think we need a brush attack like that around here

  • HAHAHA BONESHAKERS!!!!!!!!! i used to live in Ocean lakes i went to corporate landing middle school......in college now.

  • that is the meanest firetruck iv'e ever seen..

  • OMG I love that.

  • fucking rednecks lol

  • haha sweeeeet

  • I used to live in Virginia Beach. Every parade or celebration in there this truck would turn up at. One time they painted flames on it........its awesome

  • MMichitti77...before you make assumptions about wasting tax payer money you may want to do research... That truck was someones project that he had the local high school put together and he then donated it to the fire department... so please next time get your story straight....

  • That's awesome

  • Sweet!! =D

  • ITS BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • thats what imm talkin about

  • hey the benifit is, if people dont get outta his way he'll just monster jam over them

  • i want one

  • By far the biggest fire truck i've ever seen. Super cool!!

  • ohhhhhhhhhhh

  • thats the coolest thing i've ever seen. no question lol

  • 99% of the time, the money comes from the fireman an donations. the trucks are usually donated.

  • MMichitti77,

First off, chill the fuck out, second, they did not use ANY taxpayer money to make that truck. If you don't like it, don't watch it. You're an angry toolbag.

  • is this at the fire dept. bar thats down there???

  • All they need to do, is slap on decals dedicating it to the memory of the 343 FDNY members who died at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2009, and nobody would protest. (I'm a member of the FDNY) We already have a rebuilt, but standard for the era, 1940s pumper company used for parade details, renumbered as Engine 343, with placks dedicated to those personnel, by names.

  • World Trade Center on September 11, 2009,

  • I slipped up, meant September 11, Two Thousand One. Putting it into words to make sure it went in correctly, this time. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  • i dont see the point and spending that kinda money for a kids toy. get a hot wheels custom made. spend that money on a new truck, scba's, new rescue rope, equipment....its endless. WASTE

  • its obvious that this is a wealthy community that can afford something like this...and still have the money for new equipment. and im pretty sure if the tax payers had a problem with this it wouldnt exist :)

  • So your saying that you are against fire prevention? and your also saying your against projects built by highschool students? Cause thats exactly what it is your whining about

  • dont be mad cause your dept. cant afford one

  • How do you know that it wasn't donated?

  • is that even road legal????????

  • corse has red lights and a siren..

  • i mean the big wheels they cant b road legal do they take them off and replace them with smaller wheels

  • could be a brush attack? ever see the tires on the trucks that have to go back in the woods.

  • Hahaaa thats awesome!

  • arent there some tires for that at the Fire training center on birdneck road?

  • yea great one!

  • Does it do anything useful? Does it have a water pump?

    Who paid for it?

  • This truck is used for childrens Fire Prevention and education. It was also built as a project by high school vo-tech kids under the direction of Don Moss who originally purchased the stock Seagrave and convinced the city of Virginia Beach to help with the project the city ran with it. This vehicle runs on natural gas, a recognised world wide sucess in promoting Fire Safety and alternative fuels technology. Unless they have changed the truck recently I do not believe it can pump water.

  • nice firetruck!

  • that would be great for brush fires.. hahaha

  • we so need to lift our jeep like that on our fire department. thats so bad ass

  • I helped build this truck in 1994. I was the first electrician. Who would of known that us high schoolers from the Vo-Tech center could pull off this stunt.

  • I remeber seeing that beast up close a couple of years ago... It is a sick truck !!

  • ...now every RNFD(red neck fire department) is going to want one.

  • Im guessing thats not used for shouts.

    Parade vehical??

  • Fuck yeah!! LL Virginia!

I remember seeing that YEARS ago... i can only imagine if they made one to date.

  • i cant beleive ur county lets u run on that!

  • It's a parade piece..

  • What is it a brush truck?

  • No...its a parade piece

  • I just have one question... how the hell do you reach the hose bed?

  • ladder :)

  • yeah 24 foot extension ladder.

  • You don't. You slam the gas pedal and it comes right off the back......

  • Is this for real??? Because if so, that's AWESOME and I want my department to get one

  • that thing is kick ass

  • guaranteed to get to any fire! hope you enjoy my officer down video!

  • my dads going to love this

  • WAS this in fact a real fire?

  • you never have to worry about traffic not stopping for you.... they will learn there lesson as you run there ass over...haha

  • and not have to worry about a law suit because you can just run them over

  • yea

  • it's obvious they are going to an actual call, they kept their emergency equipment on while they stopped traffic and all, watch the other cars slam on their brakes, this was no demonstration here

  • god bless america!!!

  • Nice to see this on here. I was involved in building this truck back in 1993-1955 when I was in automotive Tech class. It is a 1944 SeaGrave with a 427 Chevy in it running on natural gas. It was fun being a part of it while it was being built. I will see if I can find some of my old videos of it from back then when it was being built. :)

  • I've seen this rig in Fire Apparatus Journal. What a way to keep an old Seagrave "Waterfall Grille"-era rig going!!!!

  • what kind of fire call were they going to?

  • I know where this was filmed! Of course not, who would take in a run in a 1930-1940 Seagrave lifted beyond reason??? lol

  • me, lol

  • I hope that wasn't an actual response.

  • Thats intence now that could go anywehere to put a fire out, or just run over stuff to put grass fires out with its big tires

  • Great video. Thanks!
