@IwontConform Wow you are one creepy person. I hope you have not procreated. I would be so sad to know you had any influence on a child. What are you so afraid of? Did your parents screw you up? There is help out there if you choose to change your life of hate into one of tolerance
i have irish wolfhonds there the best ever the are really big so if u don't have a big space to keep them then don't get them they may look small as a puppie but they grow really quickly i have 18 month old irish wolfhound and he's back stands just under my rib cage
@idgirl97 You won't find Irish Wolfhounds at the pound. The breeders (my best friend) usually go through an interview process to make sure you're a fitting home. They are also expensive to buy and keep. Check out Sarken Kennels. She has awesome dogs. If you aren't ready for a 140lb lap dog, don't bother. IWs are affectionate.
anyone who wants to know more about breeding dogs may also find the book "Breeding Dogs for Dummies" useful. it teaches how to decide whether dog breeding is really for you, choose the right breed, create the best possible breeding environment, establish a breeding program, comply with all government and AKC regulations etc
In any part of the country I have been, shelters have direct contact to Irish Wolfhound rescues. The members of the rescue organization will take a Wolfhound and place it in a good home them as soon as one appears in a shelter. For Irish Wolfhounds, contacting the local rescue organization makes more sense that contacting shelters.
I'm not going to let some asshat try and kill my love of a breed and my thanks to breeders who actually breed my fave dogs correctly, just because dumbasses can't or won't spay and neuter their animals LIKE WE ALWAYS DO FOR OUR OWN.
I'd steer clear of a veterinarian too. In the US, a good place to start is the AKC website: it will identify contacts through which you can find breeders. Attend shows and specialties. Get to know the breeders; listen to the discussion among owners, and then make your decision. Keep in mind that the best Irish Wolfhound breeders will make it difficult for you to get a dog: they care about the breed more than what you might be willing to pay them. Pick a quality breeder!
If you want a certain breed then it is possable to still adopt. why not get one from a local wolfhound rescue. They rescue wolfhounds from people who abandon them or didn't know what hey were getting in to. It is a easy as checking the net or checking your state's local listings. If you don't want to go to a lot of trouble why not just pick up a perfectly good dog at your shelter. Either way your going to be giving a home to a dog who really needs one.
Rescues are a great place to get a very grateful dog. The problem is that, for Irish Wolfhound rescues, you can wait a long, long time for a dog to become available.
They're the best hunting dogs.

No. Irresponsible owners kill Shelter Dogs.

Vet killed the dog, then made a video to cheer herself up..

I watched in highquality.. I think I saw it take a breath once.. I couldn't really tell.
I was thinking something along the same lines as you were though...'Is it alive?' lol

a vet is a horrible place to get information on buying a puppy.. find a reputable breeder. Most vets know jack all about each breed of dog.
